I think the 25th anniversary expansion ive done so far will be a sure fire hit! I also wish we had more deeper details of the rules and so on. :P

Here are some things I notice:
1 - The furniture, while it does look nice and resin holds up nice, it does not look painted. I know that would add a lot to the cost,
but it was nice having color furniture with the original set.

2 - The card backs looks really nice

3 - I DO NOT like the box-cover art or the art on the character cards. We've already had that discussion elsewhere, so I won't go into detail.

4 - While it does look like you get a lot more figures, I am not sure I like the "specialty" monsters included with the base set. That is one problem
I've had with D&D 4th ed. - Wizards created their entire monster manual based around specialty monsters, and few of them made sense in any
sort of generic campaign - you'd have to fit your game to match those specialty monsters. I have a major problem with that.

5 - I like the idea of having different models for the monsters - but we've already discussed how a single pose could've dropped the cost...'nuf said.

6 - They need to come up with some different rewards - if you go in as one of the high-end backers, you end up with 2 sets of furniture and at least
two or three sets of figures - While 2 sets of furniture MIGHT be nice at some point, all of these extras are unnecessary and shows a lack of planning
and creativity for their rewards.

7 - I have a major problem with the kickstarter pricing - for $94.00 for backers, they get the core set. However, I went to their website
to check on the shipping, and low and behold the core set was up there for sale - pre-order I suppose - and with shipping it come to just
over $70.00. That's $20 less than required for the kickstarter backers. One of two of things is happening with this:
-----1 - They're just trying to get as much money as they can from the kickstarter, and not simply doing it to get the game off its feet
-----2 - They just didn't pay attention to that discrepancy, or someone didn't add right or something.

Either way, this is a big problem for me - this shows that they are not as serious as I had hoped.

ALL IN ALL - I've got some problems, but if I can come up with $100 in the next month, I will probably back them at the $94.00 level. I like
what I see enough to do that...and I'm interested in what they've done with the quests.

Are you sure you're not confusing $CDN on KS with €EURO on their website?

I actually think the price is incredible. Top level pledge is under £100 (£GBP ;-) ) and you get... everything, including all future stretch goals (whatever they turn out to be, but they're getting through them pretty fast). Something like 90% of pledgers so far have gone for that option (as have I). They could pretty clearly have set it a lot higher. The game, 15 extra heroes, and all stretch goals seems fantastic value to me. A boxed game like this is at least £70 retail on its own. 15 heroes for £20 seems more than reasonable. Anything beyond that is a bonus.

Andy P - you are correct - I was mistaken - the price is not in $ on their site...so, okay...I take
back my #7.

Im surprised actually to see Ye Olde Inn wasn't mention in that intro video. Never really seen anywhere else has been more dedicated to Hero Quest. Before I started re collecting, I was always brought here. Anyways, I am actually looking forward to seeing the mini's of Mentor and Morcar/Zargon. In my expansion Mentor plays a big role in the expansion. (Its all about looking back to the beginning and doing something that directly involves Mentor and the Loretome!) So having this guy will be a benefit. :)

Its doing pretty well in its 1st day I must say, I also really don't like the art in it, I like the furniture. The sort of warning sign on the book and the evil players screen.. erm.. is that like something that still have to finish? I would also like to see the other side of this board! :P So far the stretch goals.. hmm. I like that boulder! That is a nice boulder :P I hope we get some better goals to be honest!! Im not getting excited about these so far. :(

Yeah, the boulder is... whatever. But the captive knight is pretty sweet, the captive female is OK too. Like I said above, I see it that I'm already paying what I consider a good price for the main set and heroes expansion. Whatever the stretch goals turn out to be, that's still true... even if all the stretch goals are rubbish.
