If the final game is as badly written as Mentors first letter, then I fear the game will fail badly.

And I think that viscosity of the abyss is a gelatinous cube. But badly worded indeed.

This whole deal reeks of self-gratification and hubris. The intent seems to be to outdo the original game, not to provide a new generation with similar experiences. HeroQuest owes more to its sense of charm than anything else. You deprive it of that charm, and you may as well be playing something else. How is this different than just going out and buying Reaper minis and using them to play the game with somebody else's home-rules? I like the card backs, but so far that's it. I have been playing HeroQuest for over twenty-years and not once during that time did I stop and think that I needed completely different sculpts for each orc. The only thing that's going to get English fans of the game to import this from Spain is nostalgia, and so far the only similarity that I see is the name of the game. If I saw this on a shelf at a game store for $90.00, I might decide to buy it as a lark. There is no way in hell I'd pay $150 to crowd-fund this. Why don't we set up a poll with a simple "yes/no" regarding this?

EDIT: How about one sculpt for each type of mini and a $100 price drop.

For one - I do not like the new card backs. Too modern looking for my taste.

Second - I like the idea of a different pose for each figure. But they would not need to be all
that expensive, even with different poses. They're made of cast resin, not metal. And Gamezone
certainly does not have the name and standing that other miniature companies have - for example,
games workshop, or ral partha or wizards of the coast (this last added grudgingly).

That said - if it would lower the cost of the game so that most people could buy it - instead of only
those with large amounts of disposable income which they can blow on gaming stuff - then yes,
the miniatures do not need different poses for each figure. They don't even need as many as
the original HQ had, with different weapons for the orcs. Just make one carving for each, as has
been stated, and leave it at that.

And I must agree, this is kind of starting to look like they are trying to outdo the original HQ. And we
all know that will end horribly - unless this younger generation of tasteless, no-nothing gamers decide
they want to take to it... ... ... (you all know who I'm talking about - those goofy people who thought
Eberron, along with its anime illustrations, was a good idea).

Aaaaaand it's already funded

to be honest it doesn't look terrible.
The furniture in particular looks very nice.
The board looks okay, if not a little too plain.
edit: Wait, are you shitting me? The middle room isn't rectangular and the four inner corner rooms have a single square sticking out? Da fuk?!

But on the other hand I don't get the HQ "feel". The art style and hyper detailed minis just feel "off".

I wish we could have a closer inspection of these mini's, also it isn't clear on shipping prices, for one to the UK. I think I will go for this. :)

what we can see looks nice. the furniture is amazingly detailed. the figures??? cant really see much of them. the goblin stood out as looking particularly sinister. the hero wizard looked cool. a little too manga-ish for my tastes. the gargoyle? nope im not one for static elements on moveable bases. but nice to see they have moved away from the bloodthirster look. in general the minis look great. but then i expect no less from gamezone miniatures. the game though itself? i dunno im still not sold. there is nothing that jumps out and says "BACK ME NOW!" but then i will probably regret not buying it. but then i might regret buying it and throwing it in the back of the cupboard cuz its *lemony goodness*! lol
