It bothered me because I was already bothered, because I think it was a false claim, because I really hate hypocrisy and I really hate sexism, from either side.

Once was Mortimer wrote:Another thought on wording, if the fem in feminism dictates it favours females ... does the man in management dictate that it favours men?
Possibly. You'd have to look into the origins of the word. There's lots of words like that though, their definitions change over time. I don't consider the term man-kind to be sexist because in that context man means human. It does sound kind of bad though.

Oh yeah? I want to lodge a complaint on the behalf of men. Ladies Night is BS. If I have to pay to get into a club, so should females. It's 50/50 right? Equal rights and all? I want a discount on my drinks too like the ladies get. That's only fair. Their money spends exactly like mine. Everyone's argument in this thread is wrong and invalid until we clear up this whole Ladies Night thing first.

Actually I think "Ladies Night" it's technically illegal - In Denmark at least. It's blatant discrimination.
I remember an incident from Aalborg where I lived at that time. Some place had ladies night or something like that. Some dude insisted on getting the same benefits but were refused.
Well he took it to a lawyer and sure enough... The bar was fined and had to stop doing their ladies night promotion.
And fair enough... you can't really defend it in any way
Everybody still does it though... I guess people just don't care...

This is not anecdotal, it's something I actually read in the news.

Edit: And as I'm reading a bit into it right now, I realize this is in fact a trend that is generally spreading. You may soon enough get your wish Decipher |_P
But on the other hand, now it just costs more to take your girlfriend for a night out... Did we all just lose?

I can't vouch for any company making miniatures today, if they are basically making naked females, sure, lodge a complaint, get a lawyer, change the way miniatures are being made. I'm saying this type of stuff doesn't need to be fought over in the forums here. If anyone here is offended about female miniatures, then hit ebay, buy the older TSR miniatures, buy a recast of the female miniatures from the HQ expansions and stop complaining. There are miniatures out there that are respectable towards women, not eye candy and are perfectly suited in scale for HQ.

I simply asked cynthialee if she was going to swap out the round bases for square ones. Why she made it a man versus woman thing is beyond me. I apologize to cynthialee for whatever I said to make her go off. To me, its not a big deal, its a game, plastic and cardboard. But if people can't have fun playing a game because something as small as a piece of plastic offends them, maybe they shouldn't be playing the game.

That apology is utterly unnecessary, as far as I'm concerned, and it seems to have become a goal of some debates instigated.
There is no sexism in this forum. Only fun.

??? Which thread are you posting too? In 4 pages of reading, this was the ONLY on topic post. The topic being the actual miniatures in the kickstarter. And Wolfie's post amounting to a "hold of on that pledge, you might like these better."

These are quite good female heroes. Thank you!

I stand by my positions. The industry favors men over women. Period.

And I simply love these miniatures. Full gear!? Not sexualized!? Not epic!? SOLD!
So it is said that if you know your enemies and know yourself, you can win a hundred battles without a single loss.
If you only know yourself, but not your opponent, you may win or may lose.
If you know neither yourself nor your enemy, you will always endanger yourself.

And as a bloke, I agree with that.

It favours us to our detriment.

There's actually guys like me who spent our youths going "I wish gaming wheren't usch a saussage-fest, how can we get moar chicks involved?", and now encourange movement in this direction now we're the types who can send the big money and be a positive influence.

Lamentably, there are people who feel threattened by this for whatever reason (c.f. "fake geek girl", "gamergate", etc), and are working against us.

Thank you.

I don't care to ditch all the sexy miniatures. Hell I got a dancing girl that is hot as fresh baked biscuits and the second I put her on the game map there are muttered curses and worry. She won't kill you, but she just might talk you into believing her BS and then sell you out to the Baron at the first chance. All the while coming out looking clean and blame free.
But I also want girls (and guys) that are realistic. Personally I absolutely love that these miniatures are loaded down with gear. I have a gear hog player, she gets upset when I try and assign negative modifiers due to encumbrance. Seeing it on the mini is a nice visual aid.
