I think if you two want to get something, you need to PM first to our casters ;)

Would love some pics and/or a price list. Interested in Kellar's Keep, and elf, barbarian, wizard and dwarf quest figures.

Thanks.

OK, it would seem I am a little late to the party (25 pages late). But if I were interested in contacting someone who does recasts, whom might I want to PM? Is there a list of casters that I am missing?

Billdask -resin
Patroclus -pewter

Don't know are they still actively doing these but it is worth a shot.

I have resin recasts of every expansion figure thanks to Bill. I am generally hard to please when it comes to miniatures, but his were quite satisfactory. The resin he uses is more brittle than plastic, but that's actually favorable because instead of bending under stress, it simply snaps cleanly. I had a shelf collapse that had all my HQ miniatures on it, and the only recasts that needed repair were the elf warriors from the EQP that had snapped at the ankles. Repairing them was such a non-feat--the pieces fit back together perfectly making gluing them easy. My female barbarians sword-hand has broken off twice, but you cannot even tell.

As a side-note, my Super Dungeon Explore minis basically could not break fast enough. Billdasks casts are stronger than whatever shit-plastic SDE uses.

How does the material compare to the original miniatures that come with the board game in your opinion?

Bendy vs snappy, basically. The recasts do break easier, but not easily in general and repairing them is simple stuff. The original plastic usually bends before it breaks (stupid entropy), making repairs possibly very difficult. If you don't intend to break them, the recasts are just easier to get and much cheaper. I have four recast ogres, and one genuine one, and after being primed I cannot tell which came from where.

I too have Bill's recasts and I had two breaks. I think it's the female sword and an arrow tip for an elf. I too am not worried as they are clean breaks and therefore easy to fix. In fact I'm so blase about it that they've been broken for over a year and I've not felt a panic to fix them.

Hi, long time lurker here

Just wondering if anyone is still doing heroquest recasts at reasonable prices?

Cheers

Bill is not but I don't know about anyone else. I plan on trying it in the future, but I have too much going on right now.
