As they have already spent time and money developing these.

Do you know that. I doubt even that. Heavily.

They're going to have to pursue it without the support of American customers.

Tomorrow at this time we will reopen the HQ25th project in a spanish crowfunding platform, Verkami. We decided do this so we own the trademark in Spain and avoid that can't be attacked in the middle of crowdfunding under any "suspected remote threat."

Everything will be as a "period followed" except for two main differences:

In Verkami, the money given to the project author undertakes to complete the game, and if he didn't, then he have the obligation to return the money to participants.

The stretch goals that were already released, will return to gain from a base figure, all of them, you won't need to unlock them again.

How is it going to be proved that the author undertakes project to complete the game? Receipts to be faxed to every participant?

Again, this inquiry will not be heeded, not be read, and not be answered, so it may or may not taken as a warning by all potential backers following this thread. Again.
I'm glad I already own some great models by them, cause they are so gonna be boycotted by yours truly.

I truly hope someone over there will demand proof of said trademark. I'd like to know exactly what that trademark means.
Man I hope nobody backs them. I need them to fail miserably.

Sarcasm: We as GameZone be special markers of very small persons and such as be the case we have rights obtained to make HeroQuest 25th aniversario for you. As project is much difficult to start we go to fanatics of the previous players and ask for you to support. We have rights to HeroQuest and make game for you. For favor send money to us to have made your small people and we mail them to you as finished. Please tell not anybody for what we are doing to you. /Sarcasm
After having gone though an initial peak and getting somewhat hopeful the inner cynic/realist has had a good laugh at the last few emails the have sent out. I don't want to come off as a scathing downer, there are plenty of those around here *Wink Wink*, but honestly??? How can anyone with any business sense fold faster than Super Woman on laundry day when it comes to an initial C&D. I'm just shaking my head and laughing at what I see in my minds eye. Oh well... As this has been discussed to the humpteenth time about remaking why haven't actual fans made it themselves? Wait an hour, we are fans so why not have us collaborate and make it? I've seen really good work by several people here and it would be good quality. Not like the product would be sold to others but it could come out as a small community or request for purchase deal. I'm sure it's been said but when I get to a point of having been yanked by my chain one too many times I get fed up and do it my way. It may not come out like it's supposed to (what do you mean you can't use duct tape to hold a diaper on if the wing flaps broke? You use what you have availabe! - I'm not making this up I've actually done this) but dad-gummit it works!

As it turns out, IvenBach, we DID get fed up by this and we DID start our own anniversary quest pack!
Check it out:

Here is a poll for deciding how to handle (new?) monsters:

As for GameZone... let's see them get the same amount of support this time around. I'm sure Verkami is just as popular as Kickstarter.
And I'm sure people will let that silly little copyright issue slide. Who cares anyway, right?

In Verkami, the money given to the project author undertakes to complete the game, and if he didn't, then he have the obligation to return the money to participants.

This is pretty much the way kickstarter works as well. The project creator agrees to fulfill all due rewards to the backers or refund their money. It's one of the terms a project creator agrees to before they can launch a funding campaign on kickstarter.
