Oh, OK. Sorry, misunderstood. Well, anyway... what do you expect? It's a comment page overwhelmingly frequented by people who have probably already put over $100 towards something (otherwise why bother commenting? Just ignore it) so of course it's going to be one-sided.

May as well complain about the low level of intellectual debate on a YouTube comments thread, or while gaming on Xbox Live. Yeah, you're right, but what else did you think would happen?

It's at least two clicks away. That doesn't seem much, but with Kickstarter taking percentages you should expect a project with pledges approaching half a freakin' million bucks would be among the first staff picks or at least among the first three in any category. I mean, this project took off like a rocket in its first two days and didn't lose a bit of momentum. It's gonna be Reaper Bones II level in the end, but it's not even advertising/websearching backed? Just sayin'.

I'm starting to love this. :zombie:

Shadows of Brimstone (which just ended) started out just like this one. I don't recall kickstarter featuring it either.

I've seen plenty of good debate and discussion on a lot of kickstarters. I thought the Brimstone kickstarter was bad as far as discussion went (at least early in the campaign). HQ definitely tops it though.

A big positive I want to throw into the discussion.

1) Every message I have sent has been responded to within 24 hours (usually much less.)
2) Feedback on goals, mechanics, etc. have been responded to with respect, and they seem open to ideas.

The attacks come from other backers. Gamezone is answering things well right now, at least in private messages.

Just to confirm, you are absolutely correct. I am talking about the comments page on kickstarter with my snide comment above. I came back over here to have a more well thought out discussion. I don't mind people liking or not liking the project. I really want to love it, and was looking forward to it for a long time. I couldn't believe I got so turned off of it in the first 48 hours, in spite of the name HeroQuest attached.

I'm hoping it will win me back, because I still want to love it, but with the looming questions, it's got me scared.

I couldn't agree more. I want to LOVE it. I'm still very intrigued by it even though it is and has to be said a "bootleg" If I knew 100% that I'd be getting my game through the post next December then I'd pay them today. But as it stands at the moment I am going to continue watches closely to see how things pan out :?
Please PM me if any of my old links to files are currently down. I am in the process of hosting them somewhere new!

i can understand the pessimism on this, but not the venom and the hatred that's flowing. i will only say this.
this 'new' "Heroquest" does not stop the game you spent the last 25 years loving from existing. it does not replace it. it does not stop you loving it. it will not stop you playing it.
heroquest has and always will have a very special place in my heart as one of my favourite childhood memories, when they are old enough i will play it with my kids and it will have the same effect on them. thats how good a game it is.
this game can never detract from that or change that - at worst it can do nothing to it. it could be a source of great new models, alternative boards, new spells, new heroes, etc etc. at best it could add some nice touches to an already brilliant game system.
Im going to be watching the kickstarter very closely, i like the look of it so far but theres still not enough in there to make me buy it. i think the stretch goals are a bit too lacklustre at the moment, but its only been going two days now.
i might back it, but i still have nearly a month to decide on that.

My "venom" towards it (if it can even be called that, I consider it great disappointment), is that I was really looking forward to this one, as I think a new release of an updated HQ would be great, and all the red flags keep this from being what I hoped it would be.
