Sorry folks, until i see new pictures and an official press release from a representative of this company, or on the actual website of gamezone i still call it a fake. How come that 1) all pictures that we have seen are always the same pictures ? 2) all pictures aren't hosted on gamezone's website? 3) all news about it come from one website (heroquest.es) and all other links point to it ? I'm still very skeptical... I hope i'm mistaken, which in this case i'll be very happy ! But part of me thinks a re-edition of the game won't be any good think because i think that no one would be able to bring the same spirit to the game. It will merily be a poor copy of heroquest and nothing like the original ! But that's my opinion ! ;)

Maike, you are right about the atmosphere of the first release. See what happened to space hulk. The first version was better about the rules and the artwork was more atmospheric, while in the new edition the tiles are like from a video game.
But about HQ it’s not a fake, check the official site of GameZone. http://www.gamezoneminiatures.com/tienda/en/

The way I see things, even if its nothing like Heroquest and totally not fun, its still another board-game with plastic miniatures. Its not exactly going to be the second coming of Lionheart. The new Space Hulk template that is seemingly being applied is not a good one, however. They advertise dynamic-posing of the orcs as if that's a good thing. We want uniformity--if we wanted shinier orcs, we'd all be using Reaper ones. I got no problem with a grittier take on the designs--but don't change the posturing.

yeah. this isnt for me. im not a fan of band reunions years later. and for me this is the same.
i wish them all the success with it. but so far there is very little to back it up. a few card backs which i could knock together in a few days in photoshop and a bust of an orc dont really do it. i hope its mega cool and im proved wrong here. but as far as 25th anniversary heroquest goes....i could claim i was making it..ive got more to show that could hoax my way into making people believe me

as i say i wish them all the luck. but i will be sitting out of this one

I will admit that, since there is actual information on their site (finally), I have higher hopes that this might be
for real. However, I am with those who say this doesn't really seem like it will be much like HQ. They might try
to come out with the original cards and quests and such...that would be great, though I am not personally fond
of the pictures shown of the new card-backs. Too modern for me.

I question the claim that there will be future quest packs. Gamezone is a miniature company. Whether they get
funding from kickstarter or not, it does not seem to me that they would be capable of writing new quests that
are worth publishing. For example - look at all of the quests and quest packs on this site - only a small handful
of those would really be worth publishing - no offense folks, I include ALL of mine in the "not worth it" category,
but I think if we're honest with ourselves, we could all agree.

Again, I have higher hopes now - and I would love to see some actual published, professional quest packs
come out with this new thing. We'll see what happens.

Yes, this is true. The original quests are nice and very balanced for a starter, and very good to learn “how to play” the game. But for us who are playing the game for years, we know how to make quests, and it’s very hard to get satisfied especially from a company who makes minis. For example, the quests of tasoe that I play have npcs, interaction with objects, and a common boss room has a boss a wizard and 4 to 5 minions. And of course, to make lots of quests (not just 10-13) you need a lot of miniatures that no starter can give.

I don't think the company will have the quests made by their sculptors or accountants if you get my meaning.
I think that will be a hired hobbyist's task (maybe fre3men himself? or even a professional's) who is a fan like we are. Maybe we'll be surprised by the quality of the quests.

Maybe, maybe, maybe...
All speculation is basically of no meaning whatsoever.

I will complain like a champ about the changes, but I will also be using this as my first kickstarter if I can get even a dime to spare by that time. I am dreadfully excited.
Sure it's pretty scary when the witch lord returns but what you should really be afraid of is "Resurrection of the Witch Lord". Resurrected baddies always come back more threatening than ever, usually kind of demonic with wings and horns and hell fire to announce their arrival. Think Gannondorf or Mother Brain from Super Metroid.

I'm gonna mention something here - I would like to think this wouldn't need to be said,
but sometimes one just never knows.
When and if this new edition of HQ comes out...if the company does make new quest packs to go with it,
I would like to urge everyone to be respectful of the company. By that I mean: Let's not find any scanned
copies of a brand new quest pack up here for pdf download...let's not find any word for word copy of the
text of the new quest packs...let's not find any point by point walk through of any new quest packs.

Basically...again, let's all be respectful of the company, and let's not ruin everyone else's fun in seeing what
is new.

Sure...we can all talk about the stories and plots and such...but use some restraint in how we do it.

Yes? Can we all agree to that?
