After shooting down my registry just because I installed the old version of Ghostscript, I get closer to a conclusion in a snail pace.

no joke, don't install the 15 years old version ghostscript 8.75 it shoots your registry. The current version doesn't do that.

At least, after manually repairing the reg, the path to success seems clear and free of obstacles now.

I did not know you could even install a version that old...

I had to dig a bit in sourceforge but I found it. :-)
Now ideally I cut free the few libraries that are really in use by the Heroscribe converter, then I make a Heroscribe converter executable with the few files needed inside. Would be a first for me, let's see if I can make it.

You can. I know it. Hell, you've decoded what they were doing with those old commands already. The rest is easy.

I WON! I WON!

I found the last bug and the last error.

I wrestled Heroscribe down.

I have the might now to add symbols to Heroscribe as I like. And I do.

DONE!

WON! WON! WON!  :goblin: :orc: :fimir: :skeleton: :mummy: :chaoswarrior: :gargoyle:

Congratulations!
Is the solution sharable?

Just send me the png's. It needs too many mini-tool-installations to be truly shareable.

But once I have a folder full of PNG's, the rest is automatic, so I don't mind doing it for you.
It needs some editing of the resulting object.xml but ok, I'd leave that to you.

Tomorrow I write 3 or 4 sentences as to how those png ideally look like. For example scaling is automatic... more tomorrow.

I remember Mondor did a "all in one" version of HeroScribe, wich included lot of additional icons.
You may try to contact him and you can help on each other if you need.

Is he with access to the Heroscribe Website? Ideally that site needs an update with all of Stratos' files plus mine soon to come. I tried several times with no success to contact them.

If we continue to have no way of contacting anybody of the Heroscribe team, I have talked with Stratos. He agreed to add my stuff to his Heroscribe files so that we have at least an inn-central source.
