Holy crap! I just remade my first dragon strike quest in HQ quest maker and it looks great! I missed this, but how do I turn it into a .jpg?
Sure it's pretty scary when the witch lord returns but what you should really be afraid of is "Resurrection of the Witch Lord". Resurrected baddies always come back more threatening than ever, usually kind of demonic with wings and horns and hell fire to announce their arrival. Think Gannondorf or Mother Brain from Super Metroid.

You can upload everything you like as the map image.

When you “save” the project it exports a png file. You can use a paint editor to open and save it as jpg. I tried to make it as simple as possible that’s why I didn’t put more options.

ps: Soon I’ll post the program to make booklets from the images. I hope you’ll like it.

Awesome results, I just need to improve my map, as there is a clarity issue.

Patroclus wrote:The worst thing I’ve noticed is that the area for the notes of the quest is very small! Usually we write many details, or create many special rooms for our quests, and now most of them will not fit in only one page. Of course possibly this is one of the reasons we like HeroQuest, because it has not a lot of reading, but maybe I will have to make an option for more pages in future releases.

@ Patroclus-
I had recently checked out the EQP. The last Quest switched to a smaller font size to accommodate the larger amount of Quest information. Maybe the quest maker could also provide a font-size option.

@Nephew of Mentor-
It's great to see a Dragonstrike adventure done up.

Hey guys, i'm making another quest for the blog where i'd like the heroes to infiltrate a fortress without being seen otherwise the alert would be given. But I lack any idea for the scenario? I maybe think something about a strategy map that would help the emperor gain advantage in one of the war he faces... Do you have any ideas?

@ Daedalus, yes it could, and I think I will. I also want to put an option for bigger resolution and a black and white option for black and white printers (the colors in black and white printers looks like grey and the result is not good).
But I don’t want to stay a lot in one project. It is better to make more projects than staying in the same. Now I am thinking for a map maker (for HQ or ad&d) where you draw squares, walls, doors, etc and print them in real size on A4 pages (with a number on each), so as you are playing you are showing the next page to the players, or you are putting them all in once and play like HQ. But this is a big project and I don’t know how it going to take and when I am going to start it. The interface should be easy to use and this means a lot of work.

@Maike, your quests looks very good and I want to test them. The fortress idea is very good also. It reminds me a story of conan where he enters a forgotten tower to find two ancient clans who are fighting each other. And he chooses the “good” clan to support them against the other. There were two gates (the good and the bad) and in the middle the rooms were full of dangers. Maybe this helps but I can’t remember the title of the book.

Hey guys, my bad but it took me a month replying to drathe - HeroScribe now uses the US colors provided by drathe, just download any of the latest updated Icon Packs.
By the way I'm glad HeroScribe comes useful to your project, hope the delayed changes :bites-lip: will help you more.
Cheers

Are you refering to Red Nails? I really liked that story. :barbarian:

Derfel Link, thanks for your support!

Yes, it’s Red Nails… Every GM should have read this one…

As I promised, now you can bind your quests in a booklet… Try it and have fun… And of course, share your quests with the community for more programs to come!

This is a really nice program, so here is my first quest (the story is thin but hey ;) )

2 questions:
  • Is it possible to have bold text for spells? (I think I saw it in an "original" quest)
  • Why is the wandering monster icon misplaced? It should be "WMitQ: icon monstername"
