I think I should move two south and cast Swift Wind on Orthos. He's going to move south so we can't surround him on three squares so we need two that side of him. What do you think?

If I cast sleep (Chains of Guilt as I flavored it) on the giant now, I may be able to prevent it from from entering the treasure room, which gives Tasoe time to search it for treasure!

If my spell fails I don't know what to do. Should I cast it?

How exactly does 1/2 mind work when rolling to resist Sleep??

(edit: I don't think killing the Giant is realistic, better to grab the loot and scram.)

Killing the giant is easily realistic. We should be able to do it without much problem as long as Mind Lock works well enough.

He's got one MP. He started with two.

Okay, I'll cast Dominate on him this turn to bring him up and away from the treasure room, then he misses a turn, then you can cast Sleep on him next turn. DON'T CAST IT THIS TURN! :) Then we can get the treasure, then I'll see if I can get him in a decent Mind Lock.

Agreed?

If we freeze him there he can be attacked diagonally as well. Next turn I'll go before Gernaldo and cast Swift Wind on him. Then he can cast sleep and run round to the west and head for the south door to get in position to attack in case sleep wears off while Ibagaza is still in the treasure room.

Plan?

Okay I'm going for it. 2S and cast dominate:
Gold Bearer rolled 7 6-sided dice:
3, 5, 4, 5, 2, 5, 5

And now the giant. If he gets a skull he's the luckiest giant ever:
Gold Bearer rolled 1 6-sided dice:
6

That was too close. The giant moves 4N.

Gootchute, you need to go attack him, and Patroclus has two attacks on him before he goes to sleep, hopefully.

Then I think I have to hit and run... Let's hope I'll do something...

Attack:
Patroclus rolled 2 6-sided dice:
2, 2

If I remember well, he won't try to defend himself... So, he will take the 2 wounds...

I'll try to go for the treasure room in case there is a trap...
Movement:
Patroclus rolled 2 6-sided dice:
2, 3

No, don't move. You need to stay there to attack him diagonally, and you need to roll defence dice for the giant. He defends normally. There's no need to run. He can't do anything on his next turn because he's already been. Next round he'll hopefully be asleep. If not you can attack him and run then.

Maybe you should loan Gernaldo your spear. He'll be standing next to you next turn. Then I can cast Swift Wind on you and you can run round towards the treasure room.

Postby tasoe » May 26th, 2014, 4:03 pm

Need some clarification here.

First of all, I think the giant can defend normally.

Second, Orthos should stay there to attack next turn, IF the giant does not get his turn. I'm not sure whether the giant will move now. Sotiris will have to clarify that.

Last but not least, I don't think the spell worked at all. It says you need to score at least 2 skulls, and one skull was defended by the giant, so really you scored 1 skull so the spell doesn't work.
So I guess Patroclus turn is invalid and magnus should take the rest of his turn with the spell failed.

Mind Blast: "The chaos sorcerer and defender both roll dice equal to their Mind points.
The player who scores the most skulls inflicts Mind point damage equal to the number of skulls he has in excess of his opponent's score."

Mind Lock: "The chaos sorcerer and defender both roll dice equal to their Mind points.
The defender will be frozen for one turn for each skull scored by the chaos sorcerer." :?

The chaos sorcerer and defender both roll dice equal to their Mind points.

Dominate: If the Sorcerer rolls at least two skulls more than the target does then you can immediately take a turn using the target. The target has then used its turn so can't go again until the next round?

Mind Blast: That's fine.

Mind Lock: Target is frozen for one turn for each skull the sorcerer scores has in excess of the targets number of skulls. A frozen target is unable to perform any action, including defending.

I have the same opinion, so let's keep it as you wrote it.
I know, those spells are overpowered BUT don't forget that every spell requires succesfull dice rolls and my addition that cannot be used against undead. I find it fair enough.
