Hmmm.....Crossbowman.
I remember there were several quests where they would throw you a Merc to use. I hate to give him a free shot though if he is an "Evil Crossbowman".
Nothing for it, I suppose.
Halberdier, in and to adjacent position. I think I have to risk the straight route, he's too far away to sneak along the wall.
Attack:
Defend:
Result: Well....I suppose we'll never know if he was "good" or "evil".
Just to make sure he's dead (or if I stepped on a trap), the Crossbowman will move to door position at take a shot at his carcass.
Attack:
Defend:
Result: If the Halberdier stepped on a trap, then he still lives from the Crossbowman.
If the room is clear, the scout steps in and searches for traps.

I hope you can find some use for them in your games. Please share what you do with them. I'm a huge fan of picking and modifying ideas!
I can't take credit for those special decks. Gimmeyergold made them at various points when he was avidly playing. He was experimenting with adding a bit of uncomplicated depth to the game. At some point he had an overworld system of his own design and added the Realm and Tavern decks. They function almost as Treasure Decks for an overworld system. The Rest and Lone Monster Decks were added to in dungeon adventures. You could draw a Rest card if you were alone in a dungeon to see what you got. The idea was a Treasure Deck that focused on Healing instead of gold. The Lone Monster Deck could be drawn from if you were alone in a room with a monster. The idea was that you could talk to it and draw a card to see what happened.
I tried all the decks as intended in my games and the results were a bit mixed. I suspect that might be why he made so many as he was looking for the "just right" deck. I don't think he did anything more before he left. While I didn't like using them (for several reasons) in my games as he originally envisioned, I did like the cards. So to at least keep them as something that could occasionally be utilized, I made skills that would allow access to them. It hasn't been a game changer, but it really has been nice for the Heroes to be able to add some additional uniqueness to their characters with what they can pull from these special decks. Not to mention, by accessing them through skills only, I don't have to setup 4 additional decks every game. If a Hero has a skill that utilizes one of those decks, I just make sure the tuckbox with those cards is sitting on the caddy and I'll pull a card out of it when they use that skill. It helps to keep that extra setup under control.
I haven't looked for a long time, but I don't know if GYGs complete sets are online here. Some of the decks he didn't include in the packages he posted here. If you would like them I can zip them up out of my archives and send them to you.
