BQP: The Frozen Horror Remake Main Thread!

Does anybody on here have the HeroQuest Companion App? If you guys could check it out and let me know what you see...

As far as I know, App's current version has not been updated since the 24th of May (Checked now in Android PlayStore).

Uh oh, not good... sounds like the Yeti hug is unchanged from the '92 version... that is, broken.

"another hero must defeat the Yeti to break its hold" --- which means its inescapable in solo quests 1-3!

A possible loophole that was pointed out by jace (that they used as kids) is that if the Barbarian dies in the hold, you could assume he was "let go" (because the monster thinks you're dead) and immediately revive with a healing potion (assuming you have any). Of course the Yeti attacks with 3 and can get you into a hold again and again.. as long as he does ANY damage (Barbarian only defends with 2 to start with) so better hope you have a bottomless bag of healing potions!

I wish they had corrected this... what a boneheaded omission if they didn't at least implement the draft notes fix which was to cut the damage in half (1 BP instead of 2 per round) and let you roll two dice, 1 white shield negates damage and 2 escapes (or my favorite homebrew solution, roll 3 dice and if three white shields REVERSE it and do 1 bp of damage to the monster!)... and let the Yeti defend (with 2 instead of 3) as compensation for the fact that you now have a (slight) chance to survive!

Shame about this missed opportunity...

Leaked stuff. These aren't actual scans, so hopefully no problem for the forum... credit to the original reporters over on discord (Eudoxio especially)!

From the glimpses in those earlier videos, I don't expect any of the stats for these characters have changed from the 1992 edition.

I wonder if they feared that people would be upset about ANY changes to the game so they left it as is, although they should definitely be doing something to rebalance the expansion for newer players who aren't prone to homebrew/houserule their games. Is it confirmed that the yeti hug remains unchanged? I feel its notorious enough that a company handling a remake of said expansion would be aware of the issue.

I was lucky to get a pre-order at Amazon before it went 'out of stock'.
Those monsters look great, but I can't say the same about the mercenaries. Yikes.
