Sure, any big beastie would do. I'm also thinking the Man-Scorpion from Dragon Strike. That has a 'creature' feel to it.

I updated the map with the DragonStrike man-scorpion icon.

That icon does look cool. It does have a real 'creature' look to it.

Good.. I guess this topic should be moved in another section of the forum.
Or the main title can be changed, since it becomes a work in progress translation topic.

It will be a tough battle in that tiny room also.

I've changed the title. I don't know how to move it though? It would make sense for it to be with the other two.

Think a mod has to move it.

Translation of "Caçada à Criatura" by Roberto De Moraes

Postby lestodante » Sunday March 4th, 2018 1:10pm

I just have to point that the original title is Caçada à Criatura, that literally translated is "Creature Hunt".
Seems Phoenix preferred to change the title from the Brazilian edition in "Slumbering Monster" (he also did the same with "Attack on the Sleep Wizard" -> "The Magic Sleep")

I like Creature Hunt for the name.

That's crazy powerful. I would allow it to only attack with 12 dice against the Creature, as it has been enchanted specifically with its demise intended. Against any other foe it is just an ordinary hand axe. Meaning that it will only be useful for this Quest pack, then the Hero reverts back to his previous weapons.

That's how it's been written. It's really just one use only, and then it's a normal axe, unless you are prepared to give up something really useful like the Wand of Magic for just one more attack. I like it. One mega attack, and then a real dilema as to whether to give up a precious magic artifact for just one more attack.

Played within the scope of the Game System, the only Hero Quest product that was made available in Brazil, the Destruction Axe works just fine. But consider the many disposable (perhaps partially used) or expansion-restricted artifacts included in the other expansions; giving up one of them for a 12-die attack is almost always a no-brainer.

Cheap Destruction Axe-charging artifacts in KK and RotWL include spell scrolls, the Fire Ring, Throwing Daggers, Dust of Disappearance, and Anti-poison Quills. The EQP and BQP have spell scrolls, the Sky Orb, the Ring of the North, the Armband of Ice, and Snowshoes of Speed.

The original intent of the Destruction Axe could be preserved within the wider context of the Hero Quest published expansions with a small modification: ". . . To restore the magic power, the axe must be touched with a magic artifact. . . ." > . . . To restore the magic power, the axe must be touched with a permanent-use artifact. . . .

Finally, Destruction Axe translates awkwardly for me. Some alternatives:

    Axe of Destruction
    Destroyer Axe
    Axe of Devastation
    Devastator Axe
    Axe of Ruin
    Ruinous Axe
    Billy-Balou
