If you make a Latex template for the quests, I would like that. I haven't used Latex in years but I could work with it if there was a template.

I found Heroquest fonts a while ago, you would need those.

More BEHIND THE SCENES insights...

So not WQP/DQP related specifically but I can confirm from Luca that it looks like the Elf Quest pack was originally going to have an Artifact card for the Sky Orb. They went instead with those tiles for the various stages of it blocking Mind Point attacks which was probably better. No Elven Chainmail Artifact was mentioned as a card, so maybe it was a late addition (or they ran out of card spots). Seems they were strict on the limitations of cards and mini space as well as the time crunch all along.

The team was working from photographs (of the miniatures) for the monster artwork (although we've already seen that they were working with sprues as well) and were given text descriptions of the desired poses and things when designing the card art too. Again cool to hear about the process. And "Hypnotic Blaze" was originally called "Fire Mirage" (the new title sounds cooler) for that Elf Spell.

Kind of reminds me of translation teams of ancient texts working from photographs or photocopies and piecing their work together. Nowadays they'd have that process much more streamlined with computers.

Otherwise it sounds pretty close to what we eventually got in that case.

The hype storm continues apace! Before too long I'll need to do another video stream to catch up with all these updates... whether I can squeeze that in before Christmas remains to be seen!

I’m intrigued to learn more about the rock tunnel tile. I think I read that it was designed to fit into 3 doorway bases. Does that mean it stands up above the gameboard and the figures travel across it in a kind of 3D manner?!

No, they appear to be the classic layover tiles. One has two entrances, while the other only one. I think you should put regular door bases with the "worm/mole holes" type of doors.

Sorry, that’s what I meant, the worm holes. I didn’t realise they were doors rather than tiles.
So they stand up like doors and you walk into them. That’s quite odd because a regular door is either open or closed whereas an upright hole is presumably always open?

Both, there are floor tiles to represent the tunnels, and then unique doorways to enter them.

"The holes function just like open doors, but indicate passages fraught with dangers". From what I have read, there are special dynamics inside the tunnels, though.

I see in the back right side papers some kind o a coloured map... would be the outboard Mountains of Myst mentioned in DQP sinopsis? It seems to be divided by squares. That would be a really new addon... Or maybe it was discarded according to the black cross X shown in the paper.

Kurgan wrote:The little note on "apprentice wizards" with just one spell looks interesting. So helpful NPCs or low level bad guys (we've seen the latter but not the former yet). There is a note on one of those pages about exclusive potions for the title Hero, so that seems confirmed and I would apply it to both which again follows precedent.

The note says it would be cool to feature apprentices and also their teachers (seems like he's asking "where are all of them?"). But when you'll meet the Illusionist the description says he's the only survivor in the college.

Yep, they are, the backside has the tunnels. Apparetly, the outdoor areas were scrapped.
