Hero Quest Online Games (Roll20)

Postby Jafazo » October 22nd, 2014, 12:53 pm

Ok so, I want to play HQ and am raising awareness to get some feedback about playing HQ online.

I'm interested in either joining a group or, if that isn't happening, starting one up of my own.

Is there any interest in this?

Update 10/23/14
More specifically, I'm interested in real time HQ online, not the post by post board feature. Something like the Roll20 site.

I searched on d20 and didn't find any active HQ games running. Where exactly are people playing?

There's a small (but growing) play-by-post community here at the Inn. Games are slow, but I find them rewarding.

Teldurn ran Heroquest using roll20. You can read about it here.

I did see the play by post method but I'm more interested in real time online play. If anyone's currently playing in a real time session via Roll20 or any other means, please let me know. Thanks for the responses.

I'd be interested, but don't have alot of time to allocate, maybe an hour or two per week if you need it in a large block. That is why I gravitate towards the play by post. But I am up for just about any game (other than Munchkin) and if you can play it online then that makes me happy too. I know nothing about role 20 but did have Vassel [sic?] with the HQ mod downloaded at one time, but never actually got together and played with anyone.

Aright Jason, I'll set something up. I JUST got done with my D&D session but am dissatisfied with the length of time it takes to play through. Encounters and overall progress take way longer than they should for reasons I could point out but won't (I'm not the GM of that session by the way). I'll finish up my Hero Quest setup and then I'll put up an announcement for anyone who wants to join. I've already been brainstorming and think I might just redo alternate versions of the same original quests so that the game isn't boring for players familiar with the original layouts. Webcam's or Mic's won't be necessary most likely but would be a plus. I'll update with progress so I can get some HQ going on! Later PeepS

I recently got a player up and running in my game using skype and a laptop. I might consider doing the same for others, and with Heroquest.

I currently play D&D on Roll20 using Skype to speak and it works fine. Sometimes Roll20 acts up so it's good to be able to talk and communicate problems with it through a more reliable program.
