Last year, I ran a group through the original HeroQuest campaign in Roll20, but added a number of my own houserules. This is the thread about it, with pictures of gameplay.

I am currently working on my own rules supplement and overhaul called HeroQuest Prime, and once I'm done I plan on run another session on Roll20. I am also contemplating making the Hangout On Air, so there's recorded video of the whole thing for people to watch at a later time. You can read more about my HQP progress in its own subforum here.

Roll20. I will post abou Roll20, by luck i found this topic on google here.

But by the way, Roll20 is a PLAY BY POST, in certain way, but with more features: videochat and Map editor. Until i guess is possible even insert tileset maps on Roll20 virtual table.

Would be as an PLAY BY POST++.

____

So who here have already account there?

Could try an PLAY TEST and post results here about playing HQ on Roll20

I have a basic (non-premium) Roll20 account. Originally set it up to play in a friends Pathfinder campaign that never seemed to take off. Might be fun to do some HQ with folks here at the Forums though.

Main thing to keep in mind with Roll20, is that it is a lot of work to set up a game. Fortunately, there are a lot of digital resources available at the Inn that could help a lot since scans and even unique creations are ready to go--almost. I say almost because someone would still need to create images of individual card facings and so on. Also, while you can use the die roller in Roll20, I have not seen (in the free version) any way to to add art to dice. So numbers would need to be used, however you can script certain types of rolls so that certain values will create a text result that could proclaim shields, skulls, and so on.

Moving on, the premium accounts offer more flexibility of course, but I am unfamiliar with how to use the more advanced tools, and don't really have the time or resources to pour into such a project.

If folks were already doing it and needing players, on the other hand, I could do a few hours a week most likely.

Teldurn gave me a walkthrough on his table in Roll20, and he put a TON of work into it. It's perfection though. It's the closest we'll get to being in the same room playing.

Simply brilliant.

That would be great. Thursday evenings, (after 5pm EST) are particularly good for me. Sunday nights can work sometimes. Crazy schedule.

Why not use Vassal emulator with the Heroquest mod for online play?

It's kind of minimalist. Tough to use.
