Wow....for the very first time since the event has been held (1992!!!!) I am not attending.
Reason is that my mates (with who I play HQ etc) can't make it for various reasons. My girl isn't a real gamer and our son is just 2,5 years old (although we have played 'Boomgaard' (Obstgarten) and Lottino several times) so I'm going to pass on this one.

Good news is that the cash I'm saving now will be invested in old skool Doctor Who DVDs.Image

So would I.

If the entrance was free I would have surely attended, but paying over 10 bucks just to have a look at the dealers' stands and walk out after 30 mins.....nah.
This event is only (extremely) fun when you are there with a bunch of others and play (new) games.

Well, we've been there, and I must say I was pleasantly surprised! Pretty big, lots of stands, some secondhand stands too, and a HUGE stand with a lot of games at really good prices! We were greeted by some stormtroopers at the entrance :D
Some pictures:

They had Mice & Mystics at several stands. Unfortunately, I bought it at the first stand I passed (Fantasy EnC'ounter), were it was €60,-. Then I saw the HUGE stand from a Belgian dealer, and it was €54,80 there... :(
But when I told the owner of the other stand, he told me to choose some dice from his dice trays as compensation. Very friendly man! There was lots of Descent, D&D Drizzt and Ashardalon sets, 3 copies of HQ (€50!!) at a secondhand Dutch store, Catan, Carcassonne, Ticket to Ride, Arkham Horror, lots of newer games, plenty of old games. There even was a copy of Super Dungeon Explore (€117!!!!). My mouth was watering, but much of it was WAY too expensive. We did find an oldschool copy (2nd ed) of Who Is It? which I always liked, for when our son is old enough. We also bought a Catan cardgame for my brother in law, who we're visiting tomorrow for his birthday. Lastly, I bought a puzzle ball for my wife, who was in love with these things as soon as she spotted them. This thing is KILLER hard to finish. It has 125 steps, and I've made it to 6 so far lol.

Here's our haul:

There were also lots of cardgames, M:TG as well, but I'm not really into cards anymore (still have a complete set of Alliances and Visions I want to sell...). Only if they are a part of boardgames :) I had some Munchkin sets in my hands, but they're English, and my wife doesn't "get" everything in English, there are some good jokes in there, like the Broad Sword (amazon with sword), but the Dutch version just botches that up, so I left it alone. Was in doubt about the storytelling games, like Dixit, but I'm not sure how they are played. I like a bit of a game element in it with pretty pictures, cards, boards or something with storytelling. Not just stuff like those story dice.

I did not run into Maike, and I was wearing my 100% Sjeng shirt proudly. I hope he posts here too :) Did not see anyone playing HQ alas. And zero Zombicide. Still, if I had more money and friends to game with, I might have bought a lot more :P

Glad you enjoyed it.
Looking at the pix (yours and on FB) it's the same as last year. (decorations, style, a LOT of tables to play games)

If only we could go back in time.......20 years ago there were just a few tables to play as most of the space was for shops and sellers (dutch, germans, even british) who had loads of oldskool minis (and Star Wars sourcebooks from the WEG RPG). Imagine this building (ground floor AND upstairs) filled with stands.

PS: funny you got a Wie is Het for your kid; my parents bought a copy for our kid (2,5 years) a few weeks ago!

Yeah apparently the stands' rents are very high. They make almost no profit at all. Except probably that Belgian huge stand, they had a constant line of people going by their racks filled with games towards the counter.

Hello Guys, I've been somewhat disappointed by this event. I did not expect to only find gaming tables ! I thought you'd find a lot more stand, miniatures, goodies, etc. Much something like Japan Expo if you know it ;) I did not stay long xD But I managed to spot several copies of HeroQuest, which was cool !

Even a copy of StarQuest aka space crusade !

Between a lot of boxes and well hided, I've found two copies of Kellar's keep !

did you buy the KK sets? I missed those apparently. :( How much were they? (not that I really need them)
As I said, I also spotted the 3 HQ boxes, but €50 was too much. Same for Space Crusade. A shame you didn't look for me :) would have been cool.
