I agree AH seems all over the place. Maybe they were as surprised as anyone how successful the Haslab was and got caught off guard with what they actually committed to produce? Maybe not AH themselves so much but Hasbro, who often seem surprised at how many people are still into their lesser known IPs (ex DnD cartoon, Inhumanoids, Mask, Visionaries etc...).

If AH controlled more of the money, I'm sure their sales plans would be more consistent and shared with fans frequently. Unless the guiding forces at AH are always scrambling to please fans. There are examples of AH trying to catch up to fan demand (guardian knight situation, dread dice etc...) and that's never a good thing. You're always having to stop your plans and go back to fix something that already happened. It's a tricky balancing act for sure.

Now that people are getting the Monks in hand (or are receiving notices that they will ship out soon), I hope this means more Ogre news. Could the Horde come out earlier than expected as well? That would be cool. But I guess it depends on whether or not Ogre will be a Pulse timed exclusive.

Pulse may ship a little earlier than expected but other retailers seem to ship much, much earlier than planned release dates.

1 month early (for at least a portion of buyers) seems to be the pattern for these (except maybe ROTDM, I don't recall anyone getting that early that wasn't supposed to), and the release dates don't shift more than a couple of weeks.

If ATOH is only 5 months away it's just a matter of when they will show it off. When is the next big media event/convention? Not that it has to be there, but they seem to like using those venues for the big reveals. Or maybe like before they'll hand pick some "influencers" to stream them. Bring back "HeroQuest Day" (second annual)?

If they do another HeroQuest day, I hope it is better than the last one. I was really excited for it, but the gameplay videos I saw were not good. I did not see the third video, so that could have been better, but I had somewhere to be.

When I placed my order for this with my brother's local game shop the store owner looked it up and it said available Q1 i.e. Jan-Mar. I would think March, but that's not far away.

It was confirmed by Avalon Bill on the AH Discord that March was the release window.

I would think the next big event would Christmas. Would be nice to give the fans a sneak peek the week before or something to say thank you and preview the upcoming pack.

Someone should suggest it on the discord!

They could at any time toss up an update on their page, and or their other social media presences like the AH Discord or on their X of course. Don't they usually have a Christmas sale? I would think they would promote that first, but if something was really going to Pre-order in January already they'd want to announce it ASAP. People won't have their stuff in time for Christmas, so it's just a pre-order (your card gets charged at the time of shipping like usual).

For ATOH, 2024 was the first date revealed via the store leak, sometime after January 1. March 31st was the next date which looks like a generous attempt to put in the last date for a Q1 release. So that makes sense. "January 2024" seemed a little bit optimistic. "March" was the last official one, but if it came out a month early that seems like a reasonable prediction judging past releases (I wasn't able to get ROTDM until release day). Not an expectation, but a reasonable prediction...

Some people always get stuff early because they're getting review copies, but for the rest of us it's a crap shoot until release date so long as it's not "sold out."

We're guessing ATOH is 100% finished at this point (probably has been for awhile). Unless they were hoping to do some last minute corrections to the text, why would they hold back revealing it? At this point there's nothing left to reveal about Wandering Monk or the Dice. Unless it's a lack of manpower, I'm not sure what their marketing strategy here is, other than letting the speculation machine run for ATOH and Delthrak. Avalon Bill promised more updates on X soon, didn't he...?
