I'm going to have to come up with a list of all the "speculative" rules & mechanics I was thinking they might do in this pack, but didn't, that might still make fun homebrew ideas...
Stuff I was certainly wrong about (probably think of more later). I made lots of predictions as we got more info and I kept guessing incorrectly..
1) It's not a Knight Quest Pack. So no solo quests, no Knight specific Artifacts, Treasures, etc.
2) Sir Ragnar doesn't have a dedicated figure (well, unless you use the Knight!).
3) You don't turn into ghosts in this one.
4) The Knight's abilities have not changed, he's identical mechanically to the version that was the Hero Collection limited time exclusive version.
5) Specters can't hide inside solid rock or warp all over the board doing hit and runs on the heroes (since they can't move to unexplored areas despite being able to pass through any solid object).
6) There's no "if you're a brand new player you get X" caveats in the text. However there are plenty of situations where having a particular status or object can change the outcome.
7) You don't get to import Frozen Horror mercenaries in here.
8) No big evil armies either, there are only two of each monster (except the Specters which are a trio and the Dread Wraith which is one of a kind).
9) There is a new torture rack included, it's just been redesigned as a magical "Arcane Prison" that is kind of a holo dome underneath (still too big to realistically hide most game objects unless it's a small tile or treasure chest.
10) The function of the tokens I guessed completely wrong. Most of them function just as counters you hang onto until it's time to cash them in or surrender them if you break a specific rule of engagement. No Space Crusade style blip token, monster pool or mercenary perk mechanics here, sadly.
11) No potion discounts if you are a certain hero, though the Wizard does get to craft potions without having to buy the 400 gold (for 5 crafts) "Re-Agent Kit."
12) Disguises work elsewhere than the "Plaza" area.
13) A certain subplot I was sure was going to be a major focus of the story really wasn't explained, only implied by some artwork.
14) No new Orc or Elven spearmen figures or Rogues (evil or otherwise, though there are two Elf Assassin monsters).
15) "Knightfall" prequel quest was released WAY before GenCon (on release day, even!). It doesn't feature any digital cards or tweaks, and you don't find much extra to prepare you for quest 1. It calls for miniatures in the box you could very easily proxy it using only the game system to play since so few of the new mechanics are engaged and they are all explained in the quest notes.
Some other things I'm not sure about but would need to really study the quest book to learn.
