Additionally he has also clarified that each Spawling attached to the Hero (if there are more than one at the same time) must be attacked one at a time as if they were different monsters , so you cannot damage two Spawlings at the same time with just one attack:

Though this also brings up the notion that special abilities could still attack multiple Spawnlings, such as the Rogue's multi-attack, or the Monk's air attack style (maybe his Fire style beam attack as well), or simple Heroic Brew (even if there isn't a Potion of Battle Rage or Celerity/Elven Speed left over).

Kurgan wrote:Although we can see the quest maps clearly for only 4 (of 16) quests, the Entrance/Exit doors mechanic is used despite no extra door furniture being included with the pack (as with other expansions you are expected to merely have the Game System). Using this expansion with the game system means you would use regular closed doors for this, but we aren't yet able to see if they gave a reasonably accurate count (see issues with ROTDM running out of closed doors at times).

I have checked all quest maps from JoD and will be no lack of doors just using the Game System, so Ok. However it is true that Zargon could potentially run out of Closed Door models if just owning the GS box in six of the quests, but it is so improbable in all those cases, so I think we can live with it. Nevertheless I have identified them in the first posts of this thread.

Kurgan wrote:No mention here (as in SQT, PoT) that other Alchemist Shops can be visited.

I don't see any errata there because there are many other questbooks which don't say it either.

Kurgan wrote:The exact mechanics of the "Potions of Healing" are not clarified in the quest notes. However there included Alchemist Shop clearly designates the Potion of Healing as a 1d6, so it's most likely this was the intention every time it is not explained.

Agree, then I do not consider it an errata.

Kurgan wrote:I see that JoD Quests 12, 14 & 16 do not list any "wandering monster" for the quest.

However at least in Quest 14, the entire quest is rendered as a single room (thus a monster is visible and when monster(s) are defeated, the quest ends). So it was probably intended to be the same way in Quest 12, hence no real treasure searching will be possible anyway.

Quest 16 it makes sense because monsters are able to continually spawn on Zargon's turn until the designated creature is defeated (and the ending plays), so again no searching will be possible.

So I think only Quest 12 might be a possible errata here.

I think the non declared WM for Quests 12, 14 and 16 are not errata in anyone of them for the reason you said. About Q12, in my opinion all the tiles are part of the same area too, including the waterfall 4x4 tile (notice there are not any door connecting it with the rest of the map, probably intentional to make all a sole area like in Q14 and Q16).

I have also added to the errata list the following still-not-solved old topics about the special skills of Rogue Hero:

- Opportunistic Striker: It is unclear if the Rogue can add the extra attack die when performing a ranged attack to the monster. - HispaZargon suggests that probably the answer is Yes because the card does not limit its use with ranged attacks, and according to the card artwork where it is represented a Rogue throwing some Daggers, so it seems that the extra die could be gained also when performing a ranged attack. However, an official clarification from Hasbro about this would be appreciated.
- Opportunistic Striker: It is unclear if the Rogue requires a Bandolier or one extra Dagger to use this Skill because he/she gains 1 extra attack die without performing any additional attack like in card "Ambidextrous", but the card art shows a Rogue wearing a Badolier AND throwing 2 Daggers. - HispaZargon suggests that the answer may be NO since the Rogue could be just getting the 1 extra die due to he/she is attacking a monster distracted by the presence of the close Hero, without needing any extra weapon to do it (the card does not say anything about any extra attack is being done). However, such interpretation don't match with the card art, so an official clarification from Hasbro about this would be appreciated.
- Opportunistic Striker: It is unclear if being "next to another Hero" also includes being diagonally adjacent to the attacked monster, or just adjacent to it. - An official clarification from Hasbro about this would be appreciated.

- Ambidextrous: The text looks incomplete because it assumes the Rogue will always own a Bandolier to have an extra Dagger available, however could be situations when the Rogue has not any Bandolier, nor an extra Dagger to perform the second attack. - HispaZargon, based in Guardian Knight's Skill cards wording, suggests that the card text should have better said at the beginning something like "(Requires Bandolier or 1 extra Dagger)".

I have updated the first post and the second post of this thread with the last findings, the ones which include the summary of errata detected until now. Yes I was forced to separate the summary in two posts because of forum posting length limitations. Last global update was performed on 6th of November of 2023.

Those were some nice fast corrections from AH about Jungles of Delthrak. Well done HispaZargon in your cataloging of the information!

Re: Hero Quest 2021 Remake: Errata Compilation

Postby HispaZargon » Wednesday July 24th, 2024 9:44pm

Thanks to dreicunan, Doug Hopkins (Wandering Monster) has today clarified via Discord that a Spawling of Jungles of Delthrak expansion is attached to a Hero until the Hero is dead and if the Hero is slain, all the Spawnling tiles attached to that Hero must be placed in the nearest unoccupied spaces:

Additionally, I would like to also share another related clarification by Doug Hopkins made yesterday:

Gretzl from Quest 12 of JoD uses their abilities (like attacking from a distance) in all forms.

Postby HispaZargon » Thursday July 25th, 2024 6:47pm

Again, thanks to dreicunan, Doug Hopkins (Wandering Monster) has today clarified via Discord the following, as I interprete it:

Monsters with the special ability of Spawn can create a new Spawnling or move all the Spawnlings of their own type INMEDIATELLY AFTER the end of each Hero's turn. Therefore, the Spawnlings action of damage a Hero must be solved at the end of the affected Hero's turn, just before the Spawnlings had been moved or one new Spawnling has been created by a creature with such abilities, but not before.

Re: Hero Quest 2021 Remake: Errata Compilation

Again, thanks to dreicunan, Doug Hopkins (Wandering Monster) has today clarified via Discord that Danger Sense Explorer Skill card from Jungles of Delthrak expansion only affects to "Hazard!" Treasure cards, i.e. not "Wandering Monster" ones:

Wandering_Monk_errata_Doug Hopkins_14.JPG

Additionally, thanks to Kurgan, Doug Hopkins (Wandering Monster) has also clarified some old questions about Rogue Hero rules that I already summarized here.

Those are the following as I could interprete from the Discord conversation between Kurgan and Acebaur:

- Rogue Skill "Opportunistic Striker" may be also used if performing a ranged attack.
- Rogue Skill "Opportunistic Striker" may be used without owning a Bandolier or an extra Dagger. Therefore, card text "next to another Hero" just means "adjacent to another Hero", not diagonally adjacent.
- Rogue Skill "Ambidextrous" may be used just owning one weapon, without Bandolier nor any extra Dagger. It is assumed the two attacks are performed with the same weapon (like Orc's Bane artifact).

With Ambidextrous the Rogue could do the Arya Stark thing: dropping the dagger, catching it with the other hand, stabbing.

Again, thanks to dreicunan and Kurgan, Doug Hopkins (Wandering Monster) has yesterday clarified via Discord some design decisions taken for into the Nothlands official online quest:

In most cases, allies could be treated as heroes for effects such as the difficulty modes special rules described in Jungles of Delthrak expansion.

Re: Hero Quest 2021 Remake: Errata Compilation

Postby Kurgan » Friday September 13th, 2024 10:13am

In the course of our play through of Crypt of Perpetual Darkness we found a few more small errata...

Quest 2 (page 10) in the room connected to note B, there is an unmarked Treasure chest.
Quest 5 (page 14) there is an unmarked Treasure chest in a room on the left side (with the Abomination and the Bookcase).

Granted, following the general 2021 rules, an unmarked Treasure chest is simply a generic piece of furniture, meaning a search for treasure in that room simply draws a Treasure card. However, most chests have a note either giving its contents or saying "the chest is empty." Avalon Hill even added the "Elven Riches" (automatic 200 gold for first searcher to an unmarked chest) rule for that expansion (although never implemented because they then gave every chest a note with contents).

Yeah, I’m thinking that is not errata. Plenty of unmarked chests through the Questbooks that have NOT been previously listed in the errata list.
