Another potential issue in that quest is the movement of Mentor. The notes don’t stipulate who gets to move Mentor. Also, the figure could be used to block attacks from monsters, seeing as they can’t attack him but won’t be able to pass through him either.

Yeah, everybody kill Mentor! If he dies in the Matrix, does he really die?

You have failed me for the last time.. my former friends. You are now traitors to the Empire!

Get him guys.. he's not the real Mentor!!! Suddenly, the formerly wise visage changes... to one that is dark and cruel... a mocking grin spreads across the wizened face and evil magic begins to swirl around him... "And now, my Heroes... YOU WILL DIE!!"

If the Heroes survive, the evil Wizard vanishes in a cloud of smoke and thunder... "You haven't seen the last of me!" and mocking laughter are the last thing the Heroes hear. Suddenly, the dungeon begins to shake! They must escape the Maze before it collapses in on them!

I was also thinking of this. He could be used strategically, but who gets to move him, and when does he move?

It’s as clear as mud. Although to be fair, the original (UK) edition was extremely vague on lots of stuff too.

It is written in quest notes that "You may move mentor to any space." In quest notes You = Zargon player.
With the previous line I would assume that Mentor can move during the Zargon player turn. Since he is commanded to use healing potions on zero body point heroes I would only move him when needed to do that.
It also says heroes can move through him, so it sounds like they are covering their butts so Zargon can't screw over heroes with poor Mentor placement.
Considering some say Zargon = Mentor = Morcar... It makes perfect sense that the evil wizard plays him.

And now I'm an ogre warrior! I love gaining levels. (How does one get exiled? I saw someone with that rank when reading old threads...)

I presume the intention was that Mentor is an NPC for this quest. Zargon controls him (get it guys?? HE'S REALLY ZARGON IN DISGUISE, YOU ALREADY TRAINED... DON'T TRUST HIM ! )

"Mentor" accidentally casts Firestorm. "Oops, I was aiming for the bad guys... heh, heh"

(Orcs burning... hey boss what are you doing?! "Mentor" finishes them off with Lighting Bolt to silence them...)

I wouldn't trust any objects acquired on that "training" quest if I were you!

I didn’t see any single room that had more miniatures than was included in the main set. Which room that you would be able to get to had more? Everything looks to be okay from a clearing an area perspective, or is behind a secret door that can’t be opened when a monster is in the room.

They went with a more detailed look that's for sure and I guess they figured "yelling" equals "scarier." I do miss the evil grins of the classic Orcs.

I'm assuming a character passing through rocks could reveal both rooms, or (less likely), if someone used the genie to see the contents of the secret-door room, then opens the main room. At that moment, there would be 4 fimir on the board.
