Sounds good considering the fact that a game is supposed to get harder as it progresses. I will increase the bp of all lesser monsters.

It's good to hear other's opinions on this, never really thought of increasing bp.

I'll chime in here, too, if nobody minds.
I would be against adding more monsters, for the most part. Adding monsters is fine if there is a good
reason behind it. But, just adding monsters to add to the difficulty will just bog the game down and make
things go slower.

I would go with either: 1-Add body points, as has been stated already, or 2-Change the defense from black shields
to white shields (especially for special monsters and characters...monsters with names and such).

You can also add special abilities to the monsters without going off the reservation too far. Maybe take a chaos spell
and give it to the monster as an ability it can use any time it wishes. Perhaps, like trolls, it can regenerate a body point
every turn or two. Maybe it is like Draconians from Dragonlance - turns to stone when it dies and grabs hold of whatever
weapon was used to kill it.

Be creative...stay away from immunities, though.

If I need tougher monsters I typically rule white shields block for 'powerful' monsters. Or just give them extra BP and or defence dice.

The euro rules with all monster having only one BP is rather silly in my humble opinion. I am rather fond of stout Chaos Warriors and Gargoyles.

Now for a real fun time equip a pack of Goblins with crossbows and use a gun and run tactic on the Heroes. That movement rate of the Goblin combined with a ranged weapon is brutal stuff.
So it is said that if you know your enemies and know yourself, you can win a hundred battles without a single loss.
If you only know yourself, but not your opponent, you may win or may lose.
If you know neither yourself nor your enemy, you will always endanger yourself.

A while back I worked up some simple special abilities for all the monsters of the Game System base set. My goal was to create tactics and details brief enough to fit on the monster cards. Give the thread a look if you're interested in changing more than just defense and Body Points.

daedalus - I like the special abilities - very simple, unique, but they look like they'd work really well.

All of these ideas are great, that's why I got into this game, it's so much fun to add new things to it.

Naw, they get issued artifacts before every mission.
Artifacts are issued with a simple formula.
A=P+1
A=Artifacts
P=Players

They get to argue amongst themselves who gets the extra artifact. Also I often hand out an amount of heal potions equal to the amount of players minus 1. They get to argue it out before the game who gets shafted on the heal potion.

With a pile of artifacts and heal pots they tend to get at least one or two to the end of the mission.
So it is said that if you know your enemies and know yourself, you can win a hundred battles without a single loss.
If you only know yourself, but not your opponent, you may win or may lose.
If you know neither yourself nor your enemy, you will always endanger yourself.
