Unfortunately that article doesn’t provide any source material to back that view up. Not that it’s not potentially accurate, but that the source material isn’t there to validate a third party site purporting to provide good info.

If you even bothered to read the actual article it states its source:

From: Skarsnik (Novel) by Guy Haley

"I was different, see... Oh, dey called me da Runt and dey beat and hurt me, but I was always quicker than them. You know what I mean? Da chains we had, ‘dey was so easy to get out ov. When da runtboss told us to work, I’d set me gang up and sneak away. We’d be down dere days, sometimes, and as long as I came back wiv da goods, it didn’t matter. I’d see fings... incredible fings."

—The Life of Skarsnik.[2c]
On the accounts given by Bickenstadt, Skarsnik was born like any other Greenskin born into existence. The goblin that would later be known as Skarsnik started out life by clawing his way out of the dirt, and into the darkness of a glowing mushroom-lit cave, along with the birthing of his brethren. In time, these small Goblins began to venture into the domains of the Backstairs Boys, a small tribe that is a faction of the larger Crooked Moon tribe. Even upon his birth, Skarsnik showed an aptitude of intelligence by being able to spurt out his first words moments after birth and being able to command his brethren through the dangers of the caves.[2c]

Thus Warhammer Fantasy Orcs are birthed the same way.

 Seems nobody read my comment about the druid PIXIE-trap-revealer spell.
I guess it can be useful if used in such situations:

lestodante wrote:...she can be in a corridor beetween two open doors and search both rooms at the same time (rare to happen).
Or she can be in a room full of monsters and hidden traps. So she can search for traps even with the monsters in by using the spell.

Here is a typical situation when you can't use a trap search but a Pixie spell may be very helpful.
I used the Elf icon to represent the Druid:

Apparently the view on mobile is miserable and doesn’t show the actual text references! That’s awesome! Interesting that it’s only been mentioned in a novelization.
I suppose that one could say that almost all of your typical HeroQuest dungeons have serious issues with an aggressive fungus infestation.

It just said that he crawled out of the dirt, so while it might line up with the 40k fluff it doesn't confirm that greenskins are fungus any more than if they were alligators. If GW wanted it to be clear then they would have put it in one of the army books or rule books, and they must have their reasons for specifically avoiding doing so in the last four or so of those since it was written in the 40k books.

Damn, thats an epic druid model!

Cannot compete with the one above but Otherworld has a neat option as well.

I just realized the pixie's reveal ability, while powerful in that situation, requires a setup that is fairly maniacal. If you could get your teammates to run around and open a bunch of doors first (or do it yourself), you could position yourself in the middle of all those open doors. The thing is, now you have 2-3 open rooms full of bad guys to deal with on Zargon's turn! It's an interesting balance between a powerful reveal move and exposing yourself to considerable danger.

Page 159, Warhammer extended rulebook (in Ancient History: The New Races): "From the wilderness came the greenskinned Orcs and Goblins, their insidious spores perhaps unwittingly introduced to the world upon the star vessels of the Old Ones."

They appear as the forth race to populate the world after Lizardmen, Elves and Dwarfs. Judging by the "spores" comment, they follow 40k and are fungi-based.

FYI not all warhammer lore comes from or is stated in army books/codexes that’s only 1/3 the other 2/3 come from novels and white dwarf magazine articles.

Either way, the discussion of aggressive fungus infestations (or lack thereof) probably needs to be dragged to another thread. (It’s interesting either way.)
I can however feel satisfied that this may all be the fault of space roving frogs and dinosaurs.

Oh I agree hole-heartily so let me put the nail in the coffin to end this side discussion on warhammer fantasy orcs.

SKARSNIK

Chapter 6 - A Runt Spawned

Dark.Cold.Damp.A slick membrane gave way, and soft hands found wet soil. There was nothing thinking in the little mind that worked the hands, not yet, nothing except the impulse to dig, to go upwards.
The soil was moist and full of rocks that scratched his hands. The goblin runt struggled hard, lungs burning. Spots flickered in the black. His life was done almost as it begun.
A hand broke the surface, flapping madly in the air. The second followed, than a bald, pointy head. We’re there strong light in the cavern, the newly spawned goblin would have appeared a whitish green. But there was not. Only weak blue shine of glowsshrooms held back the dark, and all was dingy.
The runt pulled himself up out of the hole. A huge mushroom stood above his birthing-hole, wilting and black now it had served its purpose. The goblin lay on his back, panting. Scrabbling noises came from the cave all around him, other runts, pulling themselves out of the earth.
The runt was feeble. The soil in the cavern was thin and rocky. The light was dim. No orclings would be born there, only runty goblins and snotlings and squigs.

Do I have to go on......
