I could see them doing a HeroQuest blind booster pack at retailers. Similar to the Lego blind bags.

In each pack you get a mystery character along with equipment and spell cards for that character.

Kurgan wrote:But then what about the "ALCHEMIST SHOPS" that would be part of KK & ROTWL ? Are those going to be cards too (Equipment?) or a table? Remember, the potions in those quest packs were identical and didn't change from EU to NA. Potion decks were a fan-mod (one I quite enjoyed, by the way).

I ended up makin a ton of potion cards if yo ever want the files

I just saw that the base set comes with 16 open doors. Is that going to be enough for the later quests? The original game came with 20 open doors I think.

According to the core info on http://north-american.yeoldeinn.com/system.php The base game came with 21 doors. Which aligns with the 5 closed and 16 open.

I think the Maze has an excessive number of possible open doors but is the only official example I remember that might raise an issue (not included in this pack, I presume as it's based on the NA GS). When that sort of thing happens, I just substitute closed doors for ones that are so far away nobody is using them (or just pull the cardboard out of the plastic for those... can't do that with these full-plastic door models, though).

The Euro version shown by Phoenix only has 16 open doors. Though there are a number of secret doors. But those are a different marker, right?

That's my point! A secret door becomes a regular "open door" once you open it (the tile takes the place of the "closed door" when it is first revealed). Hence, this quest can cause a shortage. But it's probably not part of this quest book. I don't recall if KK or ROTWL ran into this problem. You could use the Iron and Reinforced (Wooden) doors as stand ins for open doors I guess, if you happen to have the Mythic set, but only if you're homebrewing this quest since again,I doubt they included it. But maybe I'm wrong...

You don’t replace the secret door with an “open door” you place the secret door tile where the secret door is. It does sound like you need an open and a closed version of the tile. (It sounds like should have been double sided.) probably set it up rotated 90 degrees indicating closed and then rotating it to “correct” when opened. (Or it needs double sided artwork on the tile.)

It can’t really become a true “open door” as once it has been opened it can’t be closed.
