as I had a complete US set of HeroQuest + quest packs, Advanced HeroQuest and terror expansion + paint set and Battlemasters since I was a kid, as well as the DarkWorld game (with very similar to HQ miniatures) I thought I had it all and that everyone knew about all those games. I have been playing them for 30 years. Apparently few beyond original owners know about them all even today.
I also have and play Warhammer (2-8 editions) and Warhammer Quest (original only I hate AoS) and Talisman 3rd edition. Every single game I could find that had the Old World Setting or similar GW/HQ miniatures.
It wasn't until I started looking in other countries eBay listings that I learned about the European exclusives: Wizards of Morcar, Against the Ogre Horde, HeroQuest Advanced Quest Edition, Battlemasters Imperial Lords expansion, Battlemasters Chaos Warbands expansion, DarkWorld Village of Fear, and DarkWorld Dragon's Gate.
I had to get them all too.
As far as I know I now have everything HQ, AHQ, Battlemasters, WHQ, DarkWorld, WHFB, and WHRP related.
But there always is something else, everytime I research and scour the internet I find more to collect.
a GW game called Mighty Warriors that shares figures with advanced heroquest, or Legend of Zagor that looks like another HQ clone with similar miniatures to DarkWorld and HeroQuest.
I am still picking up Mighty Empires, Mordheim, Etc. related to the Warhammer world and my miniatures collection has grown into the thousands by now, I doubt I will live long enough to paint them all even if I live another 40 odd years.
Did I mention I have been collecting Dungeons & Dragons even longer and am still picking up a few things here and there to complete my nearly complete collection of OD&D, D&D, AD&D, 2nd ed., 3rd edition and the current 5th edition and all related vintage boardgames?
I have a fantasy game obsession. Although HeroQuest is one of my favorite parts, it is only a component of a much bigger whole fantasy gaming collection. I doubt I will ever stop collecting or playing.
