Well, its certainly no Iain McCaig illustration, but I think this (along with the dice logos) are a good indication of their intentions.
It seems like they understand what they are doing, and they are going for an old school style.
Which begs the question: If they are remaking everything from scratch (which is fair to assume from what we've seen), will they be able to make it look right?
They are apparently not hiring Les Edwards and Iain McCaig, so I'm afraid it'll be the same, but worse quality. I'll say a lot hinges on the miniatures themselves at this point.
I wonder if the right choice would be to do what GW did for Space Hulk 3rd edition from 2009?
A big deluxe box with modern high quality state of the art miniatures and thick highly detailed tiles + a bunch of new things thrown into the mix.
I never played Space Hulk, but wanted to. When I saw the new version, I was like "Yeah... I think I'm gonna play this one.
Gotta admit, I'm getting into the hype... Guess we'll see in a few days
