What have we here after all these years? Hopefully this isn't some nostaliga-based cash grab.

Well, its certainly no Iain McCaig illustration, but I think this (along with the dice logos) are a good indication of their intentions.
It seems like they understand what they are doing, and they are going for an old school style.
Which begs the question: If they are remaking everything from scratch (which is fair to assume from what we've seen), will they be able to make it look right?
They are apparently not hiring Les Edwards and Iain McCaig, so I'm afraid it'll be the same, but worse quality. I'll say a lot hinges on the miniatures themselves at this point.

I wonder if the right choice would be to do what GW did for Space Hulk 3rd edition from 2009?
A big deluxe box with modern high quality state of the art miniatures and thick highly detailed tiles + a bunch of new things thrown into the mix.
I never played Space Hulk, but wanted to. When I saw the new version, I was like "Yeah... I think I'm gonna play this one.

Gotta admit, I'm getting into the hype... Guess we'll see in a few days 8-)

Anyone notice the official twitter page spells it “HeroQuest” and not “Hero Quest”. That was always a slight controversial topic.

I had that game! In fact, that was the 2nd game that I ever painted, HeroQuest was the first. It was kinda a cool game. I also had a Star Trek game that did the VHS tape thing that went along as you played the game.
Fun memories.

I never played Space Hulk until I purchased the 4e. It is hands down the highest quality game I have ever encountered, and is tied for my absolute favorite game of all time with HeroQuest.
Comon Tuesday!!

No new tweets since Heroic Brew. The counter on the website ends at noon EST time zone on Tuesday, I'm sure there will be more info then.

Haven't seen any. I created a twitter account purely so I could follow HeroQuest.
I must say, I absolutely love the clean black n white art style! It's spot-on for what I would consider HQ-art! I love the lion style :whiteshield: and the new evil face on the :blackshield:
I like the classic skull better though. The new one has more of a latino feel than a high fantasy feel.

I wonder if this version, assuming it's fairly faithul to the original, will drive down the prices of the originals? If so, my timing was perfect! I just sold everything except one Game System on eBay. My opening bids were fair, but bidders drove the Elf and Barbarian packs through the roof

I'm really curious to see what this new version is all about. Even though I haven't been active here (or playing HQ) over the last few years, it's still my favorite game. I've tried unsuccessfully to find a newer dungoen crawler that I like as much.
