I'm all for it. Once they start the Gender swapping, it can't be stopped! That's why I want female Skeletons (can't verify the hip bones on those armored ones, maybe they count?)!

tb55555 wrote:Ok so I'm cuirous. Maybe I missed it, but where is the time travel in the Elf Quest?

I was thinking of the Elf spells like "Time Stop," "Flashback" (and possibly "Slow"). Manipulation of time. Maybe, to tie it back into D&D, there were a bunch of kids at an amusement park who got sucked from the 20th century into (this time) the Empire of Olde Bretonnia? One minute you're sweatin' to the oldies, the next, you're battling the forces of Ch- er, "Dread." Mentor sure has grown since then!

I don't get how sometimes they go with the most obvious modern stereotype of a character for the design and other times they go way off script. Then again I don't play the most up to date version of D&D so maybe that's where the inspiration is coming from? (R.I.P. Gary Gygax, 1938-2008)

Maybe you and I don't, but some might... not to judge. This guy is ready to pose for the art (either that or just imagine Richard Simmons as an Orc):

Finally over the 2mill threshold!!!
Not a fan of the Druid I was expecting something more in the lines of a robed/hooded character.
But all the rest looks really good.Im even okay with an orc bard.
So thank you Aussie/ Kiwis and UK’ers...It’s up to you guys or dump another 2 million....lol

Will they available after the kickstarter ends? Will the Expansions be sold separately, with or without those extras? I could imagine many scenarios there. But so far they've only said certain figures would be "Exclusive" to the kickstart pledgers.

Typically the shipping costs never change after you sign up. Though that may be why domestic shipping in the USA is $30, and shipping is charged for each copy.

If you’re getting more than one copy, and you’re a US resident it would make sense to get the fancy “pulse premium” membership as they get free basic continental shipping. (It’s $50 USD)

And there isn’t even any guarantee that the game will be available after the Kickstarter. Which is somewhat of a bummer and a potential FOMO issue.

So Hasbro, can we PLEASE get all the Remake Hero Quest components in normal stores in time for Christmas season 2021? You can always offer a "metal miniatures, crystal dice, faux leather board, gilt-edged holographic faced cards, etc, "Deluxe" edition (in fine wooden box) just for the website/high end hobbyist game shops... and charge pretty much whatever you want...

As just as it would be to continue the Gender swapping to its logical conclusion, and...

Short of making better looking (better fitting with the classic art/lore) miniatures, these are my Three Wishes for this Remake HeroQuest product:

1) Color coded plastic miniatures right out of the box.

2) Available in Europe (with or without a version of the classic rules for that region). This is happening, right..?

3) Available in regular big box, retail chains (you can even put it in Hobby Lobby, but Walmart, Target, type places ought to carry it for the normal folk!).

Fulfill these, and I might actually buy a copy!

I wasn't a particularly big fan of the Warlock sculpt. A little too weird with the crystal parts, but sure...

I actively dislike the druid. Just a straight up boring and stupid design. Those yoga pants... It really takes some talent to make a miniature this lame.

But I freakin' hate the orc bard...
Just why? Why why why?
Bard is already the most ridiculous class in RPGs, and to add insult to injury they are making it an orc.
We are in a dungeon slaughtering orcs, and now they expect me to want an orc in the party. Get real.
What a joke; but not a very good one. This is the kind of hero you make when you start to run out of ideas.

We aren't exactly drowning in new stuff, and this is what we got over the cleric or ranger from Sorasil...

...

Credit where credit is due though... I really like all the alternative monsters. They look great and add some variety to the dungeon.

What would be really cool would be all of the additional expansion quests boxes being released. Because $500+ Individually for Frozen Wastes, Mage of the Mirror, Wizards of Morcar and Against the Ogre Horde makes me rather sad. (And a bit angry/annoyed.)

If you file down the Bard’s pointy ears he will become an ugly human.

Yes Im not a fan of the Bard or the Druid design, but there could be some cool mechanics as a saving grace; we'll see

The more I think about it the more obvious it is that there's no chance of any other full expansions being included as unlocks. This is just too much to add in as an unlock when the current ones are pairs of new sculpts. No way we get on the rarest sets remade as an unlock

Maybe we can upgrade to a legendary tier if new unlocks are reached? Most likely if this continues to be as successful as it is now we'll just get expansions released as usual next Christmas or in 2022

But yes, Orc Bard and Druid as of now with nothing other than their designs will ever see my table

Green Stuff can conjure up a crackin' good beard for him too...

Forgive me for not knowing my RPG/gaming history, but Gary Gygax started TSR, which was bought out by Wizards of the Coast, which was bought out by Hasbro, who also now controls Hero Quest (which has owned Milton Bradley since '84)... so is this why we can't escape D&D ?? It all makes a certain amount of sense now, before I thought they were just being lazy... I'd still rather they not just copy/paste, though!

There may be D&D influence, but I doubt they will force actual D&D gameplay/story into the game unless they put the game in WotC hands. They already destroyed my favorite tabletop war game doing that. (Heroscape)
