I don't know, I'm assuming we are getting two more Skeleton figs that have a different weapon/Shield layout than the base units.

Exactly, Zargon's servants are coming out of Mentor's robes? How does this image make sense if this is Mentor??? This clearly shows a wizard summoning monsters and pointing them toward battle. The DM Screen faces the board, the DM is playing as Zargon/Morcar and is putting the monster figs from behind the screen. I have always took this screen as representation of the DM sending his forces toward the battle field. Very confusing image if that is supposed to be Mentor.

I also always assumed this was Zargon. The only thing that might suggest that it's Mentor would be the big book he's holding. The book doesn't explicitly say "Loretome" on it, so what's to say that Zargon didn't have his own magic book.

I'm going to guess that it will take about 6 days to hit 1.8, and another 7 days after that to hit 2 million. That would leave 27 days still on the campaign. Not sure it can hit 4 million, depends on if the average $$/day has plateaued or not.

Just pointing out that I always assumed the book was Loretome and that was Mentor holding it telling you about all the dangers that you would face... from inside his cape...
No clue why because all your arguments make much more sense, but 8 year old me had ideas and old me is just now questioning some of them.

If you really want to twist your thoughts in knots... Read the discussions on the forum on mentor being zargon.
We embraced the idea that was floated around and then on put it in our homebrew. we have morcar/zargon being the split personality of mentor caused by tapping into chaos magic. the heroes learn this at the end of the entire campaign.

It wasn't just you, somebody at Marvel comics apparently thought so too! :smack:

As for the idea that Obi-Wan and Vader are Jekyll and Hyde, that would indeed be a plot twist! He's the GM and the kid who organized the game! The Narrator was Kaiser Soze, all along!

Loretome obviously sounds like a big book ("tome"), but in my de-magicified version it's more like an ancient and giant computer, filling whole rooms, staffed by teams of monks. An elaborate calculation device for making predictions and solving problems, that Mentor consults in his endless analysis of the enemy. But I imagine in these centuries, Zargon has constructed his own "tome" and makes his own evil calculations. Or maybe, true to Chaos, he acts less calculatingly, but I think deep down he still plans, schemes, and crunches the occasional number.

The "extra skeletons" and "extra goblins" to me are just throwing in some variants (shield and helmet; wolverine claws). If "unlocked" (they get enough $$$) those would be included with the Expansions anyway. Does that mean after the fundraiser ends nobody can get them anymore (except from scalpers on ebay)? Who knows.

As for the number of figures, its exactly the same #'s as the original sets (so new GS will have 4 skeletons, new ROTWL will add 8 more). The "extra" figures (gender swapped heroes, special characters, variant mooks) go to those who "pledge" on the kickstarter (some for the $100 people, more for the $150 people). Those who "pledge" on the higher tier to get the expansions get the "extra" figures beyond that, if they raise enough funds for those. That's the story anyway... :2cents: :skeleton: :skeleton: :skeleton: :skeleton: :skeleton: :skeleton: :skeleton: :skeleton: :skeleton: :skeleton: :skeleton: :skeleton: :skeleton: :skeleton:

So yeah, at most you could get 14 skeletons, two of them just being the new "more armored" variation. And double the goblins, plus 2 more with the claw variant pair, assuming we reach that goal.

In the limited universe of the original base set, we only ever hear about ONE book - which plays a prominent role in the story.
It's perfectly reasonable to assume that the one big book depicted would happen to be Loretome.

Also, don't forget that the red wizard is also featured on the hero cards, which reads as Mentor talking directly to you.
Why would Morcar warn the barbarian against magic? This is the part that sealed the deal for me as a kid.

Anyways, I'm personally a very big fan of Morcar being more the "concept" of evil, than an actual person you can meet.
That makes him seem more omnipresent and dangerous. Like Sauron.

I'm for one glad Hasbro finally settled this (the right way) :P  |_P

My only real complaint is the use of Dredd instead of chaos (I get why they're doing it). They couldn't use a better word like Calamity or something?

I hear you, I’m partial to warriors of havoc or lawless warriors. Sorcerer of havoc.
Abominations I wonder if that was a straight up nod to the bard, knowing what he might think...lol. :fimir:

I'm least enthused with the abominations as replacements for Fimir. The Fimir were my favorite greenskins so its sad to see them gone. I think they couldve gone with something a little swampy than that fish monster. Maybe a generic lizard or something idk...outside of that I think the sculpts look pretty good. Ive seen most say the giblins are awful, but making them bigger and more menacing is a win for me. Those tiny little guys were barely monsters, but I still love the original goblins too

Im excited to mix a match them when we finally have them. Is there a confirmation on the scale of the new sculpts? Are they comparable to the originals or will it look stupid to mix them?
