It will get a worldwide release. The Only figures that say they are exclusive is Ragnar, Mentor and Witch Lord and it says “This version of the Character Miniature will only be available during this campaign”.

This version, so I’m going to assume another version will be available. Monopoly Gamer came with 4 figs, then you could buy additional characters in upgrade packs, I’m going to assume the same about HQ,

We are still a year away from launch. Will be interested in hearing today’s 1:00 pm ET panel at PulseCon.

I really hope so, that they will offer the additional pre-order minis, too, allthough overall I strongly prefer the old original ones.

The more time I spend with this the more I'm convinced it is a pre-order... They already have the completed quest book from Mr. Baker. They already have designs for the new heroes. I guess I just don't understand why they are "crowd sourcing" and what they have to gain from it

It is to build hype. FOMO is real in boardgaming. I am completely burned out on kicksters and am looking to sell off most of my collection as it never made it to the table. Having said that, I did back this.

I mean, it's pretty simple business strategy. Most businesses are focused on investing in the next big thing, or moving forward. With retro/remakes, there is a ton of risk if you don't gauge the market correctly (see - Playstation mini). So, by crowdfunding, you eliminate risk and get a good gauge of the market, and figure out quite easily if you should move forward with a project. I don't fault Hasbro for this. I also won't complain about any changes I don't like because by and large, this thing is being done relatively faithfully (see: Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles as an example of doing this poorly). Also, Hasbro has no obligation to even entertain this! Chances are, most of the things people are complaining about (no EU availability) are likely for reasons beyond their control, or will likely resolve in the future.

I, for one, am excited to see the community invigorated (despite all the needless nit-picking on minutiae). I'm all for constructive criticism, but my god, everyone's just got endless complaints. Focus on the positive, breathe, relax. This is all good for the community. We will have a blast with this.

Put it this way - look at what 2020 has done to all of us. This HQ remake is the one shining bright spot on an otherwise pimpled ass of a year.

I guess I'm just venting that a big corporation is doing big corporation things...
I really should look at the good instead of the expectedly bad. (We are getting a HQ "reprint" and not HeroQuestopoly being a big one.)

Ok, I'm not sure how long that was there, but I see Where to Buy link on the main "new HQ" page. So BIG THANKS to Hasbro for that... I thought they were making a huge mistake NOT releasing it to mainstream retailers. Now, if you can only get it on Walmart's website and not in a Walmart store, that would be dumb (they they ought to do both). If I can buy it in Frickin' Walgreens, I'm happy ("I'll take the Potions of Healing and Elixir of Life please... no ma'am, it's part of a board game, I realize this isn't 1540..."). Edit: Or is it a general statement and not a guarantee with this product?


If they can just get an official EU release that doesn't cost double... and the varied colors of the plastics, we'll be in business.

Again, my complaints are mainly with those issues. I don't care for the style of several of the minis, but the social media folks need to get over themselves. "Concerns" and "complaints" are not evil, they're part of the process. A "true fan" doesn't have to agree with another "true fan." We all are here for Hero Quest, we just do Hero Quest a little differently. Overall its turning out to be a lot better than expected.

And the ESRB and the age verification, I guess that was just a red herring, something about making sure kids aren't having their information stolen online while window shopping for "cool stuff"?

And to be clear, I am not eschewing criticism, at all. Who knows - since the crowdfunding site says "digital concept only" or whatever, maybe they look at boards like this and make adjustments! A boy can dream.

But my bigger picture point is just to focus on the positive, not be a blind yes person. This is all good stuff, with nothing but good things for the community.

That had occurred to me too after posting. BEST CASE SCENARIO that's the case. If we can only get it online or at the local hardcore game shop (how many of those are surviving the pandemic?), then that's a major missed opportunity. This NEEDS to be a mainstream release. Hasbro, don't tease us!!! (and JC Penny did file bankruptcy this year).

You can get Hasbro products just about anywhere. HeroQuest is a giant box (maybe they can push some of those giant plushies to the side to make room on the top shelf?

Not yelling at you (or anybody in particular) per se. But I see comments relating to "why all the negativity" and I think "oh boy, here we go with the 'true fans don't complain' nonsense." It's all good.
