Please edit the topic title in something more visible and in theme (ex: Heroquest remake by Hasbro/Avalon Hill or 2020).
There is also the Hasbro logo at the bottom, so I doubt Restoration Game is involved in this.

The community is awesome. I haven't been here long, but I've been wondering: do we have a cool title for ourselves? You know how star trek fans are "trekkies", are HeroQuest fans "questers" or something cool like that?

The goblins remind me of the dwarf wrestlers in the Nacho Libre movie.

The goblin in the new artwork for the KK expansion is a good example of how bad the new aesthetic is in my opinion.
When I saw the original KK box it fired up my imagination like nothing else; the sense of peril on the rocky ledge, the expression on the orcs face, the magical brute coming through the rock wall...all that is lost when i see the new goblin, I just want to roll around laughing.
It’s a similar story with the game system box. I spent literal hours drinking in the exquisite details of the original. Now when I look at the new one I’m just bemused; why the CW has a shield larger than he is? Why is the Elf twice as big as the skeleton that’s stood on the same step? Why do the orcs look like the ones from world of Warcraft. Why does the Barbarian look like he:s made of wax, and why on earth is the gold face on his sword guard bigger than his own head?!?

Don't forget the "headgear", which is clued on the forehead of the dwarfs.
The cheap design of the new miniatures and coloured illustrations keep me out of supporting this new version. I would love to have a modern fresh design of the old miniatures and artwork, but the new Hasbro game has just totally failed in this case. In my opinion this is soulless interchangeable 0815 design. The miniatures look like someone has played a few minutes with the HeroForge editor.

Late to the party here... It seems People at the Inn are jumping in on this... which kinda surprises me. Some FB groups are showing a bit less love. Anyway, so I guess most of us own the original, right? So why is everybody jumping in on this? It looks exactly the same. (not necessarily a bad thing, especially for people who don't have the original)

And does anybody think it's going to have new or different scenarios or expansions to offer?

The artwork there is fantastic, but yeah, it's very much the same except Chaos Warriors are Dread Warriors and Fimirs don't appear to be present. I'm really excited to see if they add on to it because I imagine those of us here who have the original and aren't inclined to purchase sets that are almost identical could still just add on to their old set with new official material.

And... Of course there's the plus of this community more than likely seeing some growth from it as well.

THIS is what I was hoping for. Hopefully we'll see original material in a stretch goal or a later expansion...

Just an assumption, but the old figures were designed by GamesWorkshop. The artistic license for those figs probably remain with GW. If the Hero's were remotely close to the originals there would probably be a lawsuit. GW doesn't own the rights to Barbarian/Wizard/Dwarf/Elf so as long as the designs are completely different, then there is no chance as legal issues.

Not telling you to like the new figs, but they most likely wouldn't have been able to do a modern refresh on the old design due to artistic license held by GW.
