There are others. Many others. One army book for each race that GW had an army for, for every edition of the game. I started with 4th edition, and have the army books for High Elves, Orcs & Goblins for that release. I’m not sure if the earlier editions had army books, but I’ll check now.

Something else of potential importance; I just watched the cool video thequester last linked too above, and it reminded me that Morkar is mentioned in my 4th edition High Elf army book!!!!!!!!
In very, very ancient times during the first Great War against Chaos, the Chaos General Morkar (spelt like that with a K) was slain by Aenarion. Aenarion was the greatest Elf warrior of all, kind of like a Demi-god, and predated the Empire itself by a long time. So long before Roger and co.
It’s possible I supposed, and this is how I’ve always actually imagined Morcar, that he is a malevolent entity like Sauron that returns from time to time and has to be confronted. First by Aenarion in Ulthuan, then Rogar in the Old World, and then by us kids who picked up the game in 1989...

J_Dean go back to the very first post that Davane made on page one, and click the “games” link. Scroll down to “Army Books”. From there choose “older editions”.
A scanned copy of most of the army books seems to be there, including the 4th edition High Elf book I referred to.

Enjoy. Just don’t blame me that you now won’t get any work done for the rest of the week... :D

I’ve honed in on 3rd edition being HQ time, those were the only army books for 3rd.

I know not all people want that (cough cough Kurgan), but a lot did not grow up with GW so therefore don’t know how it directly ties in and other possible Quest Packs awaiting to be unfolded.

I have all my HQ take place in the Warhammer world. When HQ stuff doesn't fit I just write it up so that it does. For example 'Adventure in Arcania' became 'Adventure in Averland'. 'Legacy of the White Mage' will start in Estallia rather than Alkanis.

That’s what I’m trying to do. Make HQ fit in 3rd edition setting, just not the timeline. A.K.A. alternate universe.

Does this mean that Mentor is also some kind of quasi-divine being in this interpretation of the Hero Quest world?

LOL you’re not going to get me to agree with you that Mentor and Morcar are the same dude, if that’s what you’re angling towards again

I don’t fully understand this alternative universe thing. I think it’s possible to fit what we know about HQ into the standard Warhammer fantasy history. That’s not to say that HQ is modern though, I.e. it doesn’t have be placed at the end of the historical timeline.

HQ takes place in the Warhammer world. We are told this. As far as fitting things in the timeline, they just don’t seem to fit. That’s what I mean by alternate universe, alternate reality, alternate timeline.
