I think we need some sort of name for yesterday, after how much happened.

Looks like when I try to install the app I get the dreaded "connect to my apps to connect to the server" glitch. Otherwise I was gonna try it out on a smartphone emulator. Oh well...

Maybe over the holidays I can rope some folks into a game and record it.

Edit: Gamestop USA website is now saying January 1st, 2022 for the remake Game System ($125).
Additional HeroQuest expansions available. (Each sold separately. Subject to availability.)

Says it contains 93 game cards...

The Knight pack there is "not available" (sold out?), while some other locations seem to have it. Dorksidetoys says "sold out."

I feel bad since the app worked right away for me and doesn't have any glitches as far as I can tell. It dies however suffer from a lack of usefulness in my opinion since I'd always have a Zargon present anyway

the best use for the ap is as a quest book replacement. For that part I was pretty stoked on it. They could turn that app into a full on HQ game so easy. Most the work is already done.

I downloaded the app first on my iPad Air 2 (About 8 years old) and even though the app store said my iPad was compatible, the app won't even load to the main screen and crashes back the the iPad screen. I downloaded it then to my iPhone 8+ and it worked just fine. Overall like others have said, I wish there was an undo button or a restart quest button. I went in the first quest and played around with it just to figure it out, but was disappointed that I couldn't start over, but in a few min, I deleted the started quest and clicked the "New Quest" button, reset the party and began a new. Minor inconvenience.

I loved playing as the hero's with my son and letting the app play as Zargon. I think my son liked it as well, I was able to coach him on some tactics. I think we may take a crack at the X-Men Danger room....I mean Rogar's Hall, together and I'll just play the part of Zargon as well. I wish they had that Rogar's Hall quest in the app as well. Maybe a future upgrade will add it since it's on Hasbro's official site.

Kind of disappointed in the Retail Price point, no offence, but Mom an Dad are not shelling out $126 for a board game for 12yo Timmy. I was hoping for the $60 - $80 range with the expansions in the $30 - $50 range depending on the size. Where they priced this I'm not confident in a long retail presence. I hope I'm wrong and we can see all the old expansions remade and some new original expansions created as well. I just think this would of had better legs at a lower price point.

Prove me wrong Hasbro/Avalon Hill.

It is right at the point if it was higher priced I would have tapped out and not got it.

Also keep in mind that a lot of other game players will pick up HQ sets for the mini's. That is how I got involved in HeroQuest. I saw that game with all those mini's and I thought 'score my dungeon just got better'.
Took a couple months after I got HQ to actually play HQ.
I know a number of my gamer friends back in the day also bought HQ sets for the mini's and not the game.

If you play any other high fantasy setting style game where orcs, zombies, mummies and goblins are of service then it is just smart move to get the HQ set and coopt the furniture and dudes into your game.

Now if you know anyone with a 3d printer you are stupid to buy it for mini's and as time goes forward more and more people will catch that message....This really is a good window for Hasbro to sell this product.

I know a few people with 3d Printers and none of them have assembled them yet, so no help there. I can get professional quality minis printed on durable material that looks pretty good, but the cost is higher than if I were to just buy the mini pre-made and not 3d printed. The only reason to do it at that point is that it's a unique design I couldn't get otherwise. Over time, it would be more cost effective for me to buy it myself if I didn't mind learning how to use it, but the folks I know haven't bothered due to being too busy at home, it seems.

I guess if there was an easy (and relatively safe) way to make molds and do your own injection or casting at home, I'd go for that.

yeah I got a friend with numerous 3d printers and I got in on the mini's very early on when he had the fever. I got so much player created content from him. :D
When I get back to painting this winter I probably will send him money to get more mini's. I typically get 3x my value or better than what I would have gotten from the store. I just tell him what I want and I get mini's.
