I like the idea of everyone putting their orc bard figure on a single large model ship and one of us has the great honour of setting it on fire. We livestream it as it slowly sails out to sea, backlit by a beautiful blazing sunset.

I always will prefer and love the original, but I am glad I own two of the reboot, it is a very curious addition to my collection, and my worst fears about the changes made to the game seems to be minimal. I am grateful for the new quest books to read (so far I have only read prophecy of Telor) but overall besides the quibbles I have had about the art style direction, figure design and my utter disdain for the new character figures there is really nothing to complain about (that I haven't already.)
Bottom line I'm pleased with the product.

This is good to know. Let us know how you find the other new quest books, especially the Spirit Queen one as it is the most concerning to a lot of HQ fans.

I say we change the name of the Abominations to creatures...or Sea Reavers or something, because the only true abomination in the new figures is the Orc Bard.  :fimir:

I'm just not sure why they went with weird fish monster men to replace Fimir instead of... Trolls or something similar.

Somewhere an ebay scalper has tears in his eyes, that his wares are now worth even more by the newly limited supply.

Yeah, one person mentioned a cyclops. Lizardmen are also a common fantasy rpg stock character. Look what they did with the "Dread Warriors." Regardless of what you think it's still the same basic thing... large scary guy in big horned armor.

I think the fish man looks cool, but he's a different type of monster from the fimir entirely. It would be like replacing the Orcs with bipedal elephants or something.

Imagine how confused everyone would be if they'd used Ogres!

If they do the Frozen Horror next, think of it... female Yetis will be possible.

Agreed, though bipedal elephants are dope as hell. Make it happen, HasLab! But I digress.

Given that we know more HeroQuest support is planned for the future, both reimagined old content and new, perhaps they have specific plans for "Trolls" down the line or something.

I just never understood the idea of a fish monster hanging out in a land based dungeon. I do like them, however.
