<---that's not at you, that's at this PulseCon video! So I return from a four day event to see that their "update" on HeroQuest was a whole lot of nothing, just 4 minutes of recapping stuff we already knew, and a slight easter egg tease that there's a frozen horror poster... (design all the stuff you want, if you can't deliver it, what's the point?) Not too impressed right now, and I'm holding back most of the knee jerk rants I could be posting.
The app better not be a replacement for the physical game, even if most of the internet doesn't know those types of game versions of HQ already exist in various forms.
They're treating this like it's some hobbyist working in his basement to create something free for the fans in his spare time, rather than a serious, big budget professionally made product for a devoted fanbase (and not only them) that they actually expect to sell. Yikes... so keep waiting.
And yes, there is still a need for the unboxing, when it finally does come out, whenever that may be. If they knew it was coming out at the end of October, they would have said so in the video instead of being so vague. What are they afraid of?
I can understand them wanting to keep the public in the dark, but what about the people who paid for the product already, why the lack of transparency? If they told me "hey, we are short 10,000 hirelings in the factory, there's going to be at least a six month delay while we get more staff" at least that means something rather than "I understand it's hard to wait and we're sorry for the lack of communication, stay tuned for updates."
At least if it were somebody making a fan project in their spare time for free, they wouldn't owe anybody anything, but this is different. This could lead people to demand refunds even faster, so not very smart on their part. We didn't buy someone's "passion" we paid for a game, a tangible physical product with an expected delivery date, and we want answers or we're going to start cancelling. Prove me wrong Hasbro, prove me wrong.
