You beat me to it. ;)

I didn't care about the chess Dragon, but hey, a little more value added (they really didn't give people much time to consider funding it anyway).

10 quests? That makes me think they probably are doing 10 quests for each of the three new quest books, which is pretty decent (hope they're good!). Extra tiles are a nice touch. More assets to play around with potentially in our own creations.

So just no female gargoyle...

Sand the corners off of those dice!

I hope the guy who whined on twitter hears that "continued support" and realizes it was probably the whining we did, not his whining he did back at us, that made this happen. |_P

I wouldn't have been surprised to see the quests available as a free download or even a basic pamphlet in the box, but an actual miniature and tiles is surprising. I wonder if they could easily fit it in with the production and Joe insisted on it not being a sold expansion.

More free stuff and on-time is a nice change from usual crowdfunded games. Sounds like the people reporting shipping to occur early next year were lying or misled.

I quite like the fact that they got the dragon to fit on one square by perching it on a column. It’s simple but effective. Just got to hope the quests are good now :?

He even did a sort-of mini unboxing there... I assume the video is taken from elsewhere. It was pretty embarrassing for him to be on all the promo videos and twitter and then his stuff not be included.

And it appears gray is the official color of the Dragon mini and its named "Venom."

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=achrLoaUcM0

As I expected, each of the "expansions" is in its own box (they don't all fit in the same box).

No word on the other two Quest books what they'll come in. I wouldn't be surprised if all the "extra" tier stuff was just in plain boxes and plastic bags.. Joe's thing gets its own box as if it's a full fledged expansion (has a mini, tile sheets and a quest book). He mentioned smoking skulls, acid tiles, and a "tavern" room tile.

We'll still need to do our own geeky fan unboxing though, since there are no details about rules (or changes to the core gameplay) in any of these latest updates.

So if it's releasing in late October, does this mean we won't get any more updates before it ships out? That would be too bad, if so.

Since we're grasping at straw for news here (the wait is just DRAGON ON AND ON  )... I noticed something interesting on DDG search...

So, I just got off the phone with HasLab (I had an issue not getting emails), and the person was nice enough to help me. I peppered with other questions, and I asked if there will be a retail release. She said that information isn't out yet, but if they do it "it won't be as elaborate as the mythic tier" which to me says a base set will be available. I am inferring this, they said nothing definitive, but they were super nice.

According to this reply from Zargon (Pretty sure this guy is Morcar with fake glasses and nose)

So perhaps they ended up putting the Gargoyle too?

Hmm... red minis? I think I see red, green, gray (the Dragon, obviously) and off white there in the full twitter video... so that to me looks like just a pack of regular miniatures inexplicably packed into his box there. Then again, maybe they are tossing the "extra rack" of "unlock tier" minis into his box? Would make sense that there's room... in fact all of the "extras" could probably fit into one "expansion size" box (so there are four boxes... the big one, KK, ROTWL and the "extras" box that has Joe's stuff + everything else). Instead of just wrapping them up in bubble wrap in plain cardboard I bet. Whatever they come in will be treated like a part of the collector's packaging by scalpers I imagine, so they saved a step.

Most of us weren't complaining about the dragon not being reached, but some were, and I'm happy for those people. I'm happy for this Joe guy that his dream is fulfilled, and hopefully his quests don't suck (only time will tell). I feel kinda bad for the person who made the female Gargoyle though... they got the short end, didn't they? I don't care that much since it looks much more boring with no weapons to me, and you never actually "need" a second gargoyle in any of the official quests they'll be covering, it would still be cool to have one of some sort. I miss the whip, but I guess they didn't want to give a whip to a woman?

Could be, unless it was referring to shipping to the general public AFTER the pledges (6 months later sounds reasonable if it were), but that might be wishful thinking on my part. We still don't know for sure if this will be a kind of "print on demand" kind of game only sold through the website, or actually sold in stores in quantities beyond "some guy bought one extra copy... dumped it on the shelf and it sold instantly to another likely scalper for 2-3x the list price").

Some have been saying they "know" that Hasbro "always" does it a certain very limited, very exclusive way with their projects. Let's hope they're wrong...

Hey Hasbro, Avalon Hill, whoever... if you're listening... you guys suck hard and don't care about the fans UNLESS you release it to brick and mortar stores as well... prove me wrong and show me you actually want to make some real money. ;)

Other than any downgrade in quality standard of the rules or the bonus quests, that is my last real concern/complaint about the remake game from what we've learned so far (and the sharp corner dice, that just feels off to me). This should be a game for the masses (like the original releases), not just elite collectors online.
