Maybe he's speaking in secret code. Somebody go back and find the hidden updates in the "comedy" Zargon posts! (Yes, I am grasping at straws here)

Oh, it's offensive all right. Just not for the reason one might've expected.

Hello.

My apologies if this has already been discussed, 208 pages is a lot of text to sift through and I couldn't find anything via keywords using the search. Has there been any word on whether or not the reboot will continue to print? I slept on the funding period and only found out after the money was raised. Short of spending a fortune on a scalped product I and I'm presuming many people here don't have any options when it comes to buying this. It would be a shame if this was a single limited run, and I was very surprised to learn that they initially only planned for a US release for a British game. Again apologies if this has already been brought up, but I can't find any information online.

Nothing has been announced about there being anything other than the crowdfunded game sent to backers.

One store added it to their online store, but no one has explained why, or if they just bought a lot of the crowdfunded copies.

I'd be willing to bet money we can expect it to be sold through the Hasbro Pulse website. That's what the fine print implies, what the advertising implies, and what a few game shop owners I've talked to have said they were told.

So for now, I don't have a hope it will be sold in game shops except if the shop owner bought it through the website (you'd be charged more than buying it direct) or "used" copies sold that way. And of course it will be scalped.

IDEALLY it will be successful enough that they'll go into full production and sell it new in actual game shops after they've fulfilled all the pledge orders and even better, sold in retail stores. But we have no proof yet that they will do this. They'd be foolish not to. What a shame if it remains a "print to order" type of product, and becomes "super rare" and expensive on ebay (even more expensive eventually than the classic, because it would be available in even smaller quantities).

I hate to say it, but if Hasbro doesn't care and perceives the public doesn't care, that's probably what will happen. Imagine going to their website and seeing a "sold out" sign perpetually under the title in their game catalog. That would really stink.

If they keep supplies low and only sell it through the website from here on, then scalpers will be able to buy it up and more easily charge whatever they like online, it will be a disaster for fans and the general public. Zargon, Mentor, whoever is listening... Stop this madness, now!

You beat me to it. ;) Fill out that survey... (but read the FINE PRINT!)

Since I don't have a smart phone, I can't use the app. HQ is way more fun with a human playing Zargon (especially because of homebrew & houserules), but "in the age of covid" I suppose this was inevitable. But if it fully simulates Zargon, what's the difference between this app and a full digital re-creation of the game system?

I was wondering whether the Witch Lord would be gray or some other color. Now it turns out the superfans who bought him (or get him off ebay for premier price$) will get to paint him.

All of the models are “you can paint them”. And the colors aren’t final. This model was just a “test copy and colors are not final”.

For solo play, an app would be cool. Much better if it allows you to create your own quests in app. We might still get that.

A couple of things that I noticed when filling out the survey:

Things that I'm not thrilled about:
- It hinted at digital only quests that would only be available through the app.
- Also hinted that there may be characters that are only available through the app (I'm sure it wouldn't take long for these to be shared with people who don't want to use the app though.)

Things that sound interesting:
- Mentioned rules for playing as a monster character (I'm sure these rules could also be adapted so that you don't require the app to do this)
- Also mentions the possibility to create your own digital quests. This would be an interesting feature to play around with.

Anyone have any thoughts on this?
