I expect that there is an embargo on the commercial release and EB Games just broke it, whoops. I never noticed how gigantic the new furniture is.

It can't just be me who finds it a bit odd to cancel an order when the expected release date hasn't even arrived yet (I say "date" but it was a whole season wide, and it's not like they can be exact due to delivery times varying anyway). It's only one guy though.

Good point about the furniture. The old furniture often didn't fill the squares it occupied on the quest map, they typically just overlapped part of the square it resided in to cover say 4-6 squares (chests and throne are only one square though for contrast). So if using the old board some of the furniture would be oversized.

The tomb, torture rack and altar models are HUGE and look a bit silly in that dungeon, to my mind.
They don’t look to be compatible with the old models.
So now that’s the new furniture and the new Heroes/Monsters that are too big to fit in with our old stuff. Doors are probably ok though?

You could scan and 3d print them slightly smaller to fit better with the old board, I suppose.

I suppose some people were thinking of buying miniatures in the online aftermarket to use with their classic set. You could do that, and you could also print your own larger size (classic design) board (like I did via BGM, not meant to sound like an advert).

I agree, assuming the scale is accurate, we can finally see it for ourselves. I've posted images in my gallery (number next to my name on the right) showing what classic sized furniture/minis look like on a 1 inch square board.

Most of the HQ furniture is so generic you can find close analogs in other popular "plastic dungeon furniture" collections, like Dungeon Decor and Reaper Bones or WizKidz.

That tomb is large enough to hide an undead figure under.

Almost certainly. And expect that date to slip and change.

In fact, I expect all images will be digital right up until the time the pledge versions ship.

HASBRO unaware it is running Avalon Hill

Postby Shadzar » July 14th, 2021, 12:18 pm

It seems HASBRO is currently unaware that they are in charge of Avalon Hill currently, and did NOT know about this change or post.
https://web.archive.org/web/20200922084721/https://wpn.wizards.com/en/article/changes-avalon-hill-management
HASBRO claims Avalon Hill is still being run by the subdivision Wizards of the Coast.

Also HASBRO is unaware of the avalonhill.com Parents information posted on the EBGames listed HeroQuest pre-order image, as the Avalon Hill website hasnt been updated in months.
https://www.ebgames.ca/Toys-Collectibles/Games/884276/heroquest-english
Image

HASBRO was also unaware there was a HeroQuest Twitter that is talking about sandwiches and chicken wings, and not the crowdfunded campaign.

HASBRO was also unaware that https://heroquest.avalonhill.com/en-us hasn't been updated since October 2020 with information about the crowdfunding project nor that backers weren't given any updates in emails, and only updates that exist are on the Twitter account https://twitter.com/heroquest. (They said the Twitter account is NOT done/run by HASBRO.)

HASBRO has $4 million of people's money, and barely know what HeroQuest is, but they did say....
HASBRO CSR wrote:"Which HeroQuest, there are many HeroQuest products", when asked about the EBGames listing. HeroQuest was crowdfunding only, and there is no retail release planned currently that they know of, and EBGames possibly ordered 100 during the campaign to have stock to sell in their stores. They have no idea where EBGames would have gotten the images they have since the product is still set to ship "Fall 2021", with no more specific date given, so is unaware how the game will release 2021/10/01.

Management at HASBRO has been informed of these things that they were unaware of and will figure out what to do next about Twitter, EBGames, the avalonhill.wizards.com website, the heroquest.avalonhill.com website, etc.

for a company that took $4 million from people to have no clue what they are doing.. HASBRO seems to be severely unprofessional at this time with their product for both the consumer and parental guidance about "small parts" and other things required by law in many countries.

Anyone else feel free to call and see what information you get, or if you can persuade them to look into this quicker.

Also, I will be looking more closely at the product when it ships to see if they tampered with my version/copy because i called and "made a stink" about it all.

If it does, then I will either come to your house and remove all the stickers from your dice.

or sell all 300+ orc bards to the Wokes of the Coast D&D players at $30 each, and make a killing!

Either way, the unboxing thread is probably more important now than ever. |_P
