The book was released prior to HQ though?
I believe so... So if my memory serves me, it would seem like the elemental-magic-something I saw in the 3rd edition WHFB rulebook might have inspired the Hero Quest magic system. But it's been years since I looked in that rulebook, so don't take my word for it, better check it for yourselves.
Well I ended up ordering the book (wife keeps telling me to read more anyways, so why not make it fun).

3rd edition - isn't that the FFG version of WFRP?
2nd Edition was the Black Industries version.
The current version is 4th, produced by Cubicle 7. They are currently rewriting the Enemy Within campaign, and the companions include commentary from the original designer of WFRP, Graham Davis...

j_dean80 wrote:I don’t know much on the topic but pretty sure WHRP is a whole different game. Warhammer 3rd edition came out in ‘87, so would have been the existing one at the time of HQ.

Pancho wrote:The Warhammer army books are really useful too. Some of them are a bit pricy, but they contain detailed history for each army/race.
