This is why I need to stop doing editing when I'm tired, but I accidentally wiped out some sections of the OP... including several unboxing videos I had collected, links to Cael's posts (I have the threads in which they were posted linked at least) and descriptions of the "new" heroes. Then again that latter information has been posted elsewhere and really, the new heroes haven't changed since they were posted in the preview in terms of abilities. But if anyone has any of it saved or can recall some stuff that SHOULD be in that list that isn't, please hit me up when you can and I'll update it (and save a backup more frequently too).

windows has a program called Notepad. i always type stuff there first so editing a post means i copy it all and paste into notepad and save, then begin the edit and then copy form Notepad and move to the website i am trying to post int he text box in.... also we could check the wayback machine in case anyone saved anything recently?

nope. November 3 was newest... but i just backed it up again just in case. ;)

Thanks for your help! See I normally do what you do but this time I got sloppy.

Well the plan is to stream on Twitch (HeroQuestFans) over the course of the next day and post what I can there on youtube after.

Regarding the Remake Character Sheet... I'm glad it looks like 98% the same as the classic (the battle axe images were clearly re-created). The sheet is definitely scaled up (taller on top) and the pad is very thick. Unless the paper is that much thicker, I'm guessing if the original was 100 sheets, this might be 200. Makes sense because they're giving you nearly twice as many quests.

In the old days you could photocopy four character sheets for 25 cents (copies were once quite expensive especially in some locations maybe a dollar per sheet... and the only way to get more sheets otherwise was to buy another set. EU fans could buy the Adventure Design Kit which had a re-designed character sheet that was much bigger. But the Remake sheets look like the NA edition from 1990.

I'm a little surprised they retained the 14 numbers on there to circle when you complete a quest, but I guess since the new quests may just be a one shot deal for the fundraiser, they wouldn't want to have a checklist with teases for those (or adopt the EU way which was just a bank for "tasks completed" and you'd write in the titles of the quests yourself). No coat of arms to customize (doodle on the back if you want).

Yes, you still get to name your character. |_P

Super professional move by
@Walgreens
to open my FedEx mail and put my HeroQuest order on display for the public. Absolutely unbelievable.

Opening the box alone could get Walgreens for tampering with "mail" which is a federal offense. The persons identification was on the outermost box, not inside individually. everyone has seen the shipping box labeled 1 pcs. in other words the entire box contains 1 thing, should not have been opened.

This entire FedEx thing is getting worse by the day.

That is unbelievable! I would be p*ssed! Hope the owner was able to claim his game without too much hassle! I wonder how Walgreen’s staff explained that and where is Kellar’s keep?

Yeah i want to hear the BS excuse Walgreens gave for opening something NOT addressed to them.

I will still probably make sheets for the specific quests, i never liked the body points section, probably make a sheet for each of the 4 heroes (THERE ARE FOUR LIGHTS!), with their own stuff on them with just a section for BP tracking and base BP... maybe AFTER I automate the new version in FG.

I was able to get photocopies for a nickle a page at the Post Office. :| The machine took quarters, but you always got 5 copies. Post Office was more needy than Gov't, none of this triplicate Tom-foolery you better make 5! No wonder they are so slow, all the red tape on 2 extra pages.

The heroes are already named: Rogar, Telor,.... which i will likely add to my custom sheets as the name section is for the player name, and the character section is for which Hero is used on that sheet.

Code: Select all
Name: Shadzar
Character: Dwarf

that is how we did it. Included the name in the quests so if the barbarian was captured the quest text said
Rogar was taken in the night by the evil wizard Zargon, and you must first rescue him before defeating his captors. Be sure to bring along some gear for Rogar as he was taken in only his loin cloth, otherwise he will be forced to use whatever rusty weapon he finds and they will only do 1 attack dice of damage.

Rogar and company were the four legendary heroes who defeated Zargon's forces the first time. The heroes you are playing are their successors in the new war, that's how the story plays out. The UK version suggested you could name your Barbarian "Sigmar" (hello, GWS!), but in the end he is whoever you want him to be.

Preparing the video stream... Shadzar, thanks for alerting me to another Twitcher who posted an unboxing already. Gareth_Hreidmar (Gareth Paints Minis channel)

Ours will probably be a two-parter. Basic unboxing then a deeper dive.

Part 1 streaming a little early... the second part should be right on time. HeroQuest Unboxing, from HeroQuestFans on twitch, reposted

It will be going up on youtube shortly thereafter.

Here's the post on youtube (minus the major sound issues we had on twitch for the first half of the stream, sorry about that).

The next stream will go live on HeroQuestFans @ 6:00pm Central time. Had to iron out some audio issues, but should be better unless we lose power (thunder storm out tonight).

Was getting tired so didn't do a read through of the UK rules (we'll do that next time). The second part is being uploaded to youtube as we speak (about 40 mins left). Thanks to everyone who joined us tonight!

Updates: 102 character sheets in the pad!

Also the Treasure Chests don't have a "hollow" bottom, meaning you can't hang them on top of the outstretched arms/weapons in "Prince Magnus's Gold" to aid them in carrying the chests back to the stairs (most adults don't have the patience for that anyway). Also the size of the chest + the size of the Dwarf means you can't balance the miniature on top of the treasure chest while disarming... oh well!

The Tomb is too small to cram an actual miniature inside it (unless it's a treasure chest, or a bunch of rats/skulls) at least to actually conceal it! Darn.

No real damage to my set unless you count a little "white corner action" on some of the edges of the box (I'm not worried). Several weapons were bent, but easily fixed. The weapons rack was bowed in the middle, but still stands up perfectly fine on the board. There were some quality control issues on the black paint on the combat dice (I could see traces of finger prints on them, the mouths of the lions were mostly not filled in, the skeleton "teeth" were a little smeared and the Black shields were a little sloppy). Basically I had four "perfect" dice and the rest had issues. Looks like they used some kind of oil to slip the movement dice in there (or the person had oil on their fingers that put them in). Soap and water. The female "Mace" orcs didn't fit perfectly into their cubby holes, as there was no from for the weapon, so they were bent.

Still none of the horror stories that some reported. The furniture seems to be a harder, denser kind of plastic than the rest, and the Dragon uses that same kind of plastic. The thicker figures are less bendy and the goblins in general seem less bendy.

The cards were thinner than I expected and the character sheets were thicker than I imagined.
