Hasbro is one of the old school game companies and they probably fail to see the need for it all. They told us when we get our stuff, they will deliver, they know it and so do we so what is there to talk about...?
Not that is a good idea, just it is pretty standard in old school business to cease communications until delivery.
So it is said that if you know your enemies and know yourself, you can win a hundred battles without a single loss.
If you only know yourself, but not your opponent, you may win or may lose.
If you know neither yourself nor your enemy, you will always endanger yourself.

If there's a Bard in your Heroquest, don't be alarmed, now
It's just a spring clean for the Spirit Queen
Yes, there are two tiers you can go buy, but in the long run
There's still time to change the road you're on...

There were two videos I was aware of, that guy who showed the painted dwarf figure and then the Q&A (was there just one or two?).

It was a total waste of time, and the "painting" videos were quickly stopped as well as everything else. They jsut fell off the face of the Earth and abandoned the entire thing it seems. Some are preparing for a class-action lawsuit if the game never ships next year or ships with things like 2d standees and not minis due to the lack of communication.

Also HASBRO does Twitch streams for Extra-Life, and all their people that are "guest designers" are in Twitch staff gaming streams, so they know about communication as they are all from WotC and D&D groups.

They expected everyone else to do their work while they sit on their butts and just got paid, and Joe Macaroni failed to be big enough name (I still don't know who he is or why I should care about him in HQ) to promote anything. They got a bunch of nobodies that nobody was interested in with Baker shoved in there somewhere.

Oh here's to my sweet Zargon.
The one whose little path would make me sad, whose power is Zargon.
He'll give you, give you pits, pits, pits!
There was a little dungeon where he made us suffer, sad Zargon.

I think Joe is pretty active in the D&D scene. They probably thought that everyone who wanted HQ remade was also a diehard D&D fan/player and not realize that we're a separate breed. So I think it backfired on them a bit, not as many HQ enthusiasts knew the household name as they'd liked.

Yeah i hear stories of him here or there, but been playing D&D since 1982 and into it and HQ both pretty heavily. cant paly HQ as easy since there isnt a digital format that does what it needs to do and D&D has been PbP for decades... but i enjoy both equally, and i dont like them trying to merge them myself. Sadly many appear to think HQ is D&D in a box as Joe posted on his Twitter, and as you say, that idea failed because most of the "Storytellers" that the Matt Mercer crowd attracts with his Critical Trolls or "Critters" seem interested in board games unless he is playing them.

I think it exploded in their face since neither Joe nor anyone else did ANYTHING to promote the game beyond 1 video Q&A near the end after the PusleCon video, and Joe on the final days made a tweet about it to his little fanbase on Twitter.

I saw more promotion of Monopoly for Millennials than for HeroQuest, and HASBRO had to make that from scratch, wherein HQ they have nearly everything needed by just reusing old D&D minis from DDM or anything else of the 50+ years of minis in the D&D catalog to replace the GW ones.

That is what you get when a fanbase is older and not the InstaGram or Twitter crowd to do your advertising for you during a pandemic where most people can't even afford necessities to throw out some impromptu crowd-funder and then just ignore it for the majority of time.

I suspect after the end of the cancel date of Dec 6th, we might hear something form someone again, if only an email re-confirming to people that they have spent money and to wait until next year.

They could have made enough dice to send one set of the new combat dice to everyone for Holiday this year even if not the painted promo dwarf or tomb dice-box that random nobody youtubers got.

You've got to be careful with that sort of thing...

Perhaps he accidentally rolled all black shields and disappeared into another dimension?

Reaper has another analog to the "Abomination" 77187 Tiik Champion ("Tiik" seem to be fish-men monsters).

Just found this and it concerns me.

http://web.archive.org/web/20201130093113/https://jobs.hasbro.com/job/Pawtucket-Sr-Director%2C-Global-Brand-Strategy-&-Marketing-Hasbro-Gaming-Rhod-02861/674350900/

Sr Director, Global Brand Strategy & Marketing - Hasbro Gaming
Date: Nov 6, 2020

We have an immediate need for a results-oriented, strategic global marketer to drive our brand messages and vision around the world for AVALON HILL.

Avalon Hill (a division of Hasbro Gaming) is a global market leader in the core, face-to-face gaming category with iconic brands like Risk, Betrayal, HeroQuest, Axis & Allies, Robo Rally, and many more.

The date the project ended HASBRO lists a director position for all of Avalon Hill marketing?

Oh no!
