Which seems pretty good if you like them. Shipping rates and tax may vary...I am lucky to have my childhood HQ still plus some expansion stuff I've bought off ebay, and I'm always trying to find time for painting still. This will be an excellent challenge and I'm very hopeful we can mix and match without looking like an entirely different game
My younger sibling had HQ and the first two expansions from our childhoods. I bought my own NA GS later. Also found a copy for my other sibling.
As for compatibility, unless the figures are really, really tall (not counting weapons or tips of helmets), they should be fully compatible. The original figure bases were between 22 and 25 mm while the squares were only 22 mm. The Remake board's squares are 25.4 mm (if I'm doing my conversions correctly, we don't use the metric system much in the states). So the new bases would be a bit crowded on the old board, but not vice versa. They've stated that the rules and Quests are based directly on the NA (US Edition) with very little change (with all of the featured examples bear out, I have yet to see anything different other than the new bonus Heroes with their new spells).
It’s such a shame that the squares on the new Hasbro board are 1”. Means that none of the old HeroQuest will be compatible. Not the old miniatures and not the old tiles. They really should change this and also provide the oldschool HeroQuest square bases for the new miniatures.
