Encarmine has also posted on Discord the following, revealing more lore details:

https://forum.yeoldeinn.com/viewtopic.php?f=143&t=6267&start=110#p125686

P.D.: Nice to see Encarmine indentifying Ladril as a 'fighter' and a 'mage' at the same time. According to the classic Advanced HeroQuest board game, the Elf character is a High Elf, from Warhammer universe. Of course the remake's lore is not based on anyone of the classics, but just for information.

Interesting. Someone once told me that the Elf in classic heroquest (the model at least) was based directly on a Warhammer fantasy "wood elf." When I try to look up examples of that online, I see them all wearing hoods and carrying bows, and the "High Elves" have those stylized, mitre-like helmets. I don't know enough about the lore to say, but they might both be true... and can inspire even if it's no longer "canon" to the remake edition.

I dig the throw backs in lore history to establish new lore. Been solid so far, nothing too cheesy, or far fetched.

Heroquest started development in 1987, at which time GW didn't have a lot of definition to the different types of elves (this didn't kick in until around 1991 with High Elves and Dark Elves), the GW catalogue from 1988 shows a lot of Elves styled in a way that is very evident the HQ elf was a derivative of (all sculpted by Jes Goodwin) - which is the basis for the "Wood elf" range.

1987 also saw the release of Elf Captain Skarloc:

Today it has been presented in Modena, Italy, another tease of Rise of the Dread Moon expansion.

You can watch the full video here: https://www.instagram.com/p/Csd9gpRI-vF/?hl=en

As far as I know, it has not been revealed anything new about the miniatures we have already seen this week. The only "new" discover I think is the three skill cards for the Knight Hero. The cards have been vaguely shown on camera, and shortly read but I would guessthe rules written in these cards will be exactly the same as the ones included in the Commander of the Guardian Knights mini-expansion, as expected. Of course probably the card backs art will be different, but it can just be vaguely confirmed in the video.

More news!!! Thank you HZ...

So the Knight is the same (other than aesthetics) and only one such figure in the box. 300 gold coins for the "potions deck" (do they give this deck a name?) version of Frost Skin and Portion of Restoration (that any hero can use).

Small bits, but all good reporting! Thanks also to HeroQuestFans' domymontalto for the screen captures (I don't have instagram) |_P

:o
The crouching elf with the sword has a shield on his back... another reason to think he's the "scout" of the group. So that just leaves the "two hatchet" female warrior replacing the Swordsman.

So I wonder if this means my speculations based on the cover art are "all wrong" and it's just an Elf aesthetic to the four familiar mercenaries here or is this just a fraction of the new minis in the box?

Because what if that's literally it for minis in the box... 4 "Cadre" members, 3 specter monsters and the Knight hero? Seems a little slim for a pack this size, but then maybe they don't have the others ready for prime time yet...

So few of these characters might indicate they are pretty unique, and if they are for hire, maybe they are stronger (and more expensive) than the regular mercs. Then again, if you owned Frozen Horror, maybe you could still hire those guys here too (but pity for the person who didn't buy both then). In the actual adventures I guess we'll be fighting Orcs and Skeletons again with these guys showing up occasionally? Or are there more to reveal...?

Something tells me this isn't the only plastic in the box (and I don't just mean a couple of alternate enter/exit doors). If they are cutting down on plastic to save cost that might make some sense these days. But we'll see!

No... absolutely not. The box will surely include more plastic, I have no doubt about it.

Moreover, I think that at least one really breaking miniature, not still revealed, will be included.

In addition, there are new bad guys shown in the cover who has not been revealed yet, specially the evil characters and the pseudo-chaos warriors shown far away, and probably new furniture or equivalent extras like the ice dice will be also included. I don't think Hasbro will change now the patron they have already followed with MotM and FH.

Hasbro is giving us the info step by step to keep the hype alive in media until the final full revelation, just near the box could be available for retail.

it must be a tease at this stage, because the release is less than 2 months away (and if early deliveries are a thing again, only a month to go!).

I agree there is more plastic in the box, my guess is a "boss" spectre, at least two other monsters, furniture and doors. In addition more cards and tiles too. Will it have less plastic than Mage of Mirrors? Yes, but not much less. Avalon Hill has done a great job so far, I don't think they will drop the ball this time. Excited to see.
