Hasbro/Avalon Hill have been growing increasingly silent since wiping HeroQuest from their website. Numerous consumers are now unsure where to get it.
Dread on the Horizon and Return of the Witch Queen have yet to make it on line, nor do I think they intend to.
I think they have/had intentions for another quest pack with Grawshak as the villain, he was mentioned in the last 2 on line quests and he came up several times in Wizards of Morcar. Whether Hasbro/Avalon Hill intend to carry on with this other expansion is uncertain. We are in the dying down phase and the only new content I've seen advertised is the dice set and matt for Wizards of Morcar... It's been 9 months since Wizards of Morcar became available. I'd love to see a new expansion before the end but don't count me hopeful. But I AM grateful for all the new content we've gotten since 2021.

Actually, I haven't played anything in about a year, so my mind is pretty clear of my old runs, and I've decided to play First Light for the first time with new characters. In the past, I've played through the original campaign, Kellar's Keep, ROTWL, and most of The Frozen Horror. I believe I currently have everything that's been (re)released, including Wizards of Morcar. And so, which pack(s) do you suggest I play after First Light?

Prophecy of Telor would be a good one to go for next. If you want to start a 3rd group of heroes, running them through Spirit Queen's Torment is a good option as you'd have 3 groups built up afterwards.
Once you get to the bigger boxes like FH and AtOH the difficulty is raised (more so in FH and MotM). But after Frozen Horror go with MotM, RotDM, AtOH, WoM, JoD and CoPD. Asides from Mage of the Mirror and Rise of the Dread Moon don't feel obligated to use the same hero groups for all these expansions. Sometimes I like to play it that multiple story lines are playing out at once and Mentor is sending out different groups of heroes to handle each.

That is a very good way to go. Heroes can get strong quite quickly so that many quest packs just aren't a challenge for them. We currently have 10 groups on their own paths.

+1 wallydubbs
Mentor definitely has different groups going out. In First Light's narative he talks to the heroes about events in the original campaign, informing the heroes as he finds out. The capture of Sir Ragnar and the Witch Lord awakening to name two. So the sames heroes running the original campaign and First Light would be awkward chronologically...

There are many posts here at Ye Olde Inn referring to lore and which quests take place when chronologically...but don't limit yourself or other players to same group of four heroes. I just started Rise of the Dread Moon, I am using a Knight and Rogue that have run previous quests, but added a new Wizard and Elf. Likewise, the Berserker and Scout may come with the JoD expansion, but you aren't forced to use them in those quests.

I think we have 12 choices for individual hero classes, plus alternate genders or alernate scupts like the promo Druid or limited run Knight release which differ from standard retail heroes. Mix it up!
