Hero counter-measures against Wandering Monster Traps is stick together in a single file line (these only appear in corridors). Unless you're using one of those fancy homebrew boards that expands every corridor, at best you can thwart one of the WM attacks (they can ONLY attack the searcher... or the Knight if he uses his "challenge" skill I suppose... not from the card but how the App interprets it). Remember that after WM Trap attack the one who triggered it can still do an action if they have that left (just can't use extra movement to retreat). That means you can attack the monster back!

Now if it's a searching WM, you can crowd yourself into a corner so that the other heroes are in the way, hence the WM can't attack anything until Zargon's turn (doesn't protect you from Hazards of course). Agreed that Mercs are in big trouble in these packs, hence you will hire a lot of them as they become fodder. A Merc who fails to disarm a swinging axe trap may be killed in one swipe! But remember what Encarmine said... it does NOT say that you CAN'T give them healing potions (or even other items). Potions of warmth 9 (or lesser healing) work great to keep them alive as they can do death saves just like a hero, unless you as Zargon say they can't! Snowdasher is much more limited, but these Mercs, whether the FH ones or the ones in ROTDM seemingly can do just about anything other than what it says they can't do (the App takes a stricter approach like saying they can't use artifacts.... but why? the base rules don't say that! so I would let them use a spell scroll, you could even add armor to them, etc. and they can temporarily hold your gear if you die or need it passed to another hero, you just can't get a refund for their hire fee and can't loot the body if they die to steal their starting weapons).

Yes, in Wizards of Morcar, the rules for Mercs are much more strict (and those mercs are even more fragile), but remember, this is not Wizards of Morcar!

I found it odd they introduce Mercenaries in a pack with so many unavoidable traps, and instant death situations. Might as well paint all the mercenaries wearing red shirts.

Judging by this picture it seems like there IS a card for the wolf. It's a grainy image, but I suspect the separation from the monster cards pin these as the 2 Dwarven Druids and Wolf card. I originally thought this would be their Shapeshift form, but it's not out of the realm of probability that this would be a familiar or pet. The wolf may not even count as a hero, but a tag along bonus that goes with the Druid. It would make the Druid more formidable in the World's End Tournament.
Against the Ogre Hoard is far more difficult then Keller's Keep and Return of the Witch Lord, but not as hard Frozen Horror.

I also suspected that there would be 6 Druid cards, duplicates with different backs, for each Druid, but they only gave us one set for the Monks and Mage of the Mirror gave no alternate back for the Elf accompanying that quest pack.
But who knows what creative differences the remake will bring?

Yes, exactly. Like the quest where the very first square they step on is the ice slide trap. Extremely unfair!

So perhaps Amalgamash was right after all... fine that's one for you buddy! This throws my whole world into confusion because now we're imagining there's a RED figure for the wolf... and thus far in the remake they've avoided giving us red plastic monsters (unlike classic HQ, where at least in the EU editions we had red "Dark Warriors" and red "Ogre Warriors"). Then again you're talking to the guy who has no problem using the red Knight figure in ROTDM to represent the traitorous Sir Ragnar, despite it clearly being intended as the optional Guardian Knight hero (I've already got those figures if he did join our campaign at some point).

So there's a wolf hero in ATOH? Wonder what that's about? Animal companion seems likely then. Snowdasher had a digital card as mentioned earlier just no miniature (they can't assume everyone has easy access to a 3d printer). So here I'm going to change my prediction and say Animal Companion (like a "free" mercenary). Could be the same as snowdasher or a refinement of that idea here. There's only one miniature, but that doesn't mean there has to be only one companion (though that's the implication here) since you could use tiles to represent any number of them in theory. If they're sticking to the "anything less than four heroes" in a quest, that could just mean 1-3 heroes get 1 wolf with them.

My last caveat is that even final Box artwork need not be "final" to what's inside the box. But it's going to be darn close. I highly doubt they would do something so radical as to show a character on the back of the box in the area showing the contents that doesn't actually exist. Infamously the classic edition showed the metal minis and non-final artwork for the cards, dice, and board. The closest we've come to that sort of thing with the remake is that the ROTDM guardian knight was a different sculpt (but still clearly recognizable)!

I really doubt we'll see duplicate Druid cards, since despite having two miniatures, there's nothing on the displayed art that shows a need for alternate artwork indicating the male and female variations. Then again, anything is possible. Who predicted that the remake Game System would include duplicates of the Battle Axe, Crossbow, and Longsword?

I thought the general opinion was that the red wolf will be the druids shapeshift form.
If so that's annoying cos it should be a bear, as per the shapeshift spell card.

Originally, yes, that was my first guess too, and if I hadn't seen that card, which looks like a wolf, I'd probably still assume that. The Shapeshift spell still appears to be a card... So that's within the realm of possibility too. Maybe they changed the text from +1 AD & DD and says "refer to Wolf card stats" or something. Or maybe they found the Druid wasn't up to snuff and added a companion to join him/her to balance it out... it could be either one of these. But the Snowdasher thing got me thinking it could be pet... These Dwarven Druids might have slightly different stats from the one in the Mythic Tier, but the spells still look the same.
They ARE adding 3 additional quests and/or Arena Mode that the Wolf may play a part in. It seems like a creative option they might shoot for.
The back of the box is saying 28 or 29 cards, so part of me thinks they'd change the image of the Druid's and make 2 sets. But I suppose they don't really need to if the effects are the same and picture isn't changed.

Call me maniac or grumpy but I dont like we have now another sets of stats for ogres. Yes, they are Ogre warriors in the card but what were ogres in MOM? Gardeners? Maybe those ogre warriors are younger than ogres in MOM so they are faster but have less attack dices but is a bit annoying to me. Yes, old ogres in original ATOH had different stats from the ones in MOM but both were published for different sustem. Ill go with the younger ogre route.

Buuuuuut we have also the mercenary ogre with... Mov 8, attack, defense and body 4 and mind 1, an even quicker but weaker kind of ogre "adapted" to be a hero companion. Too many different stats for ogres. May the mercenary is a half-ogre? Ogres should be ogres here, there and wherever they are.
