Since I treat it like a ghostly whisp of mist with glowing "eyes", I like using the tile. It's so different from everything else you've encountered... (and is a partial inspiration for the Elementals I developed).

But I guess there are a lot of "ghosty" type miniatures out there you could use. Reaper has a few translucent plastic figures for example, that resemble ghosts or demons.

As far as destroying the death mist, it is only affected by the spirit blade or tempest spell. Assuming 1 body point? Tempest spell only causes a monster to moss its next turn, but notes say it destroys the death mist. Spirit blade would need to roll am attack. 1 skull equals a kill? Seems weak. Think I will play it as 2 HP the spirit blade must take out.

I created some rules for a Wraith for a particular campaign that I made called "The Fall of Sir Ragnar" and used the Death Mist token to represent it, simply because I didn't have another figure available, but it turned out I liked the Wraith rules so much that I backported into Return of the Witch Lord and converted the Death Mist into a standard Wraith (with the special additional rule around it being restricted to the shaded zone)...

Wraith

Movement 6 squares, Attack *special, Defend 3 dice, Body 3 points, Mind 3 points

Special Abilities: Soul Drain, Incorporeal, Invulnerable,

Soul Drain
A monster with this ability attacks a character directly through touch. The monster may attack any character, using the standard rules except that the number of combat dice rolled by the monster in attack and the character in defence is given by their mind value.
If the attack results in the victim losing at least one Body point, then the monster gains one Body point. This is not a restore but an increase to their Body points total.

Incorporeal
A monster with this ability has no physical body so can pass through obstacles such as walls, closed doors, furniture, other characters, blocked squares and even solid rock but must end its movement on an unoccupied square. However having no physical body means that the monster cannot block the movement of heroes through the square that it occupies.

Invulnerability
Attacks from mundane (non-magical) weapons have no effect. Attacks from magic weapons, spells and Holy Water have their usual effects.

I later treated The Witch Lord in his first appearance in Barak Tor as a Wraith with the difference that his Invulnerability extended to everything apart from the Spirit Blade.
