It's higher resolution to trace, and it's not dithered like the Inn logo whichis a GIF file at only 256 colors. Both are a plus, really. But like I said, if I'm the one who ends up doing it, it's going to be yellow on gray, no "noise", no gradients, no woodgrain on the sign, etc. I'm just not good at generating those kinds of details, so I wouldn't try.

Vector graphics version of Inn logo?

Would one of you folks with some skill in using Illustrator or Inkscape be willing to produce a vector version of the Inn logo?

Doesn't have to be insanely high detail, feel free to simplify the textures in fact—ideally it'll be under 300k when hit with scour or other SVG crushing tool and a little hand-tuning. Believe it or not, the GIF is only 40k, but it scales up and down poorly because it's an old GIF file. :D

I wonder if the stone effect can be done with a filter effect? I mean, if I attempt to create this thing it's getting traced and flat shaded yellow on gray and text on brown for the inn sign. Not saying the result wouldn't look okay for a blind guy mostly editing the SVG in a text editor after the initial auto-trace step … but I'm not skilled at this stuff, and some of you really are. :)

Then again, I am a fan of The Quest's art style…
