Can't find it.

I was early with short special rules for each of the basic monsters in this thread, but the ones called out by Beiren were done by someone else at Old Scratch, if I recall correctly.

That's a solid start. Daedalus made those special rules.
If a houserule springs to mind during a game, never implement it immediately. Present it to the players after the quest and tell them it's going to be a rule for the next game night, when it will be playtested. Then you get a reaction without cheating.

I don't know when the first time be when we will play. We haven't played settlers in a year (I recently became father for the second time), but it will come back.

Because they don't know the rules, I want to set up all the rules so that they have a fun game with lots of variety.

So I'll use the NA-rules consurning the lives of the monsters.
But I'll add abilities to the monsters (found this somewhere else).
Goblin gets kick & rush (they can attack between movement)
Orc gets counterattack (If he can block attack he may attack on the heroes turn)
Fimir gets tailattack (if he gets blocked he can use his tail)
Skelet gets sith attack (2 squares next to eachother gets attacked)
Zombie gets desease (If he can wound, an extra life is lost due to desease/infections)
Mummy gets ressurect (trow dice after mummy is killed; with skull he becomes skeleton; with white shield he becomes a zombie, with black shield he is dead)
Chaos Warrior gets holy armour (1 white shield may be used in defence)
Gargoyle gets whip attack (he can also use his whip to attack with 3 dice and the whip has a greater range an can pull heroes to him)

There are also some other ideas I have.

I trie to make a complete game, because if I alter the rules while playing they maybe think I try to cheat.

Welcome, Beiren. It seems Hero Quest is a good choice for your group, with you as the evil wizard player. You rightly understand that the first Quest is very tough, so a simple solution that will gradually reward your group without you needing to give them the win is to start with Quest 2. Quest 1 is better balanced to be played after the first 5 Quests, so insert it then. It was made extra tough to drive home the point that the Heroes need to stick together, but your group probably already understands that, as they have been teaming up against you already.

Let us know how things work out. The Saturday Night Dungeon section of the forum is a great place to post if you want to include some detail, otherwise we can read about it in this thread.

Oh how I wish my group felt the same way... The thought I stacked the deck when they actually pulled traps and wandering monsters instead of all treasure like the first few quests.

Keep us posted on how it goes in your attempt to kill the heroes, or play the game as most would say.

Welkom bij ons forum!

I killed off a dwarf yesterday. In HeroQuest that is. I also use the NA rules. I created EU cards of all the NA cards, like chaos and elf spells. Be sure to grab those too.

I totally agree. There HAS to be danger about it, otherwise it isn't fun to play. But characters dying every game is also not fun, either.

By the way...WELCOME!

Normally I always go for the win, but I slaugther them from the beginning (the opening quest of the european package is way to though) they stop playing it before they even got properly started. So that's why I think heroes should win. Ofcourse I go for the Evil wizard myself and from time to time a hero should die.

Oh yeah, that was the passage I felt time stop, slipped through the wrong leg of the Trousers of Reality and then I just forgot about the alien experiments done to me.
Welcome, Beiren, Curtisan of Heroes.
