Hi, Crix here

Postby crix » Wednesday October 26th, 2011 1:23pm

Hello

Looooooong time HQ fan. I bought my first game system back around 1990.
If I ever find it at a garage sale, I always pick it up..
so far 4 game systems
2 return of the witch lord
1 kellars keep.

pulled it out of storage the other day, cause in the mood to paint some figures.
my favorite thing to see is how others have painted thier HQ figures
heres a few of mine....

hi!

Neat mini's.

I have all of them painted except for my dwarf and my zombies...

But none of them are very good. I am no artist. More of a stay in the lines coloring book type.

First post and we already get some eye-candy. Very nice- welcome aboard!
I'm personally jealous that you can get HQ at garage sales, as I'm in another country now. Got my stuff at thrift stores about 10 years back. Sometimes people post about finding stuff through Craig's List as well. Somewhere out there there's a Return of the Witch Lord with your name on it... good hunting!

Wahooo!! I loves it! Especially the drops of blood on the floor at the Orc feet!

I like the effect on the tombs there, very stoney.

I really like the green tinge effect on the tomb! Makes it look like it's lit by an infernal light.

Never dawned on me to paint the furniture.

I really like the wizzards table. The book looks cool.

thank you, that just what I was going for!

thanks everyone! I am still learning. these were the easiest ones to do.
I feel I got the "dry brushing" down

having a hell of a time doing eyes, I just cant get em right..

and "wash" painting(is that what its called?) where you water down the paint, so it flows into the details... that never seems to work for me either.

but over all I feel I am getting better.

P.S. is there any 501st and/or Rebel legion members here? just want to say hi.. SL/IC 4913

WOW.. there is so much info here.. its overwhelming! Lots of great stuff. I found a nother site before this one, but there seemed to be alot of attacking and hatred and disrespect(at least thats how I took it) of other members. Derogatory comments evey couple post.. Not what I was looking for.
this site seems more of what I was looking for.. just a general Love for Heroquest.

I've always played the US version, and pretty much stuck to the rules.. but some of the "add-on" rules here are really cool!

I loved all the D&D stuff, but it was just too much for me.. HQ was SOOOO much easier to play :D I stuck with that.

lately I've been in such a mood to play. my son is 7 now, and wants to play..figure Id give it a shot..
I mentioned it on Facebook that I was gunna play, and found a few of my friends that want to play too.
starting to get back into painting all my guys.. we will see how far I get.. you can only do so many skeletons before you get bored :D

Glad you enjoy the Website and forum. A plug on a social networking Website like Facebook is a great idea. Seems like a good way to catch the interest of friends and relatives. Hope you get to play again soon.
