Hello Everybody!

My name's SinghST*R and I am most probably younger than many of you here. My uncle has a copy of Heroquest, and recently we have been playing some of the early quests as a fresh beginning. The last time I had played (before that) was maybe 7-or-so years. My favourite player character is the Wizard (and always has been!) and I suppose I'm a relative novice to the game. It's great to see how many people play this game and invested so much time and effort into making all of this. I hope that you'll have a look a some of the ideas I have, and possibly help me perfect them and use the.

Well, for one thing, characters can be healed by 'Heal Body' and 'Water of Healing' from anywhere on the board. And 'Ball of Flame' and Fire of Wrath' can target any monster on the board. Without those...the Wizard kind of sucks ;) Oh, and our Evil Wizard, Morcar, if a bit nicer on the dying rule- sometimes at the end of the quest we find, instead of treasure, 'Potions of Resurection'. Which saves me starting all over again with my character. :D

my rules when i play(that is when ever i have time) is that when a hero dies, and does not get revived, they may come back at the start of the next quest but as payment i tack one random artifact/equipment as payment for their death. i like yours also, do you have any rules on dice?

That's a great rule! We have no rules on dice, but I was going to ask (elsewhere) whether spells like 'Ball of Flame' must be defended with ANY shields, or Black Shields when used against a monster? The one we play is ANY dice, to make it a 50/50 chance, but other than that no rules on dice. :)

Oh, and thank you drathe. I've heard you're a well respected member of this forum. :)

I can answer this one.

They monster/hero loses 1 body point for each skull rolled. There is no defence roll.

the dice rules that i have is that with spells in order to cast them you need to roll a spell dice to see if you can even cast it. and my rules on spells is well there aren't many because no one uses the wizard in my group.

I like that rule. :D Now I've just got to convince my uncle to let me use it. :cry:

At some point of progression I am going to award wizards additional spell sets. I'm only unsure of how to determine when they are worthy (as I do not record experience points). Any ideas? The only way I can think is you pay for them with your gold, but this doesn't sit well with magic coming from personal growth and years of training.
