Salutations, noble heroes!

I'm an old time Hero Quest player, and I've recently decided to pick up my old dust covered game and give it some love. The last time I actually played Hero Quest was ten years ago!

I have the Brazilian version by Estrela, which means it came with those horrible paper miniatures. I mean, they served me well, for many years, but I always carried with me the frustration of not having the actual miniatures. Buying an english version might be a little too expensive nowadays, so I'm planning on collecting the miniatures little by little on eBay, and using some Reaper Bones when necessary. I already ordered the orcs and goblins.

I'm planning to paint the miniatures and customize the furniture (maybe replacing the cardboard parts with wood or epoxy. I'm looking forward to exchange many ideas with you guys and learn a lot in the process!

Good to have you... I'd keep an eye out for joblots of minis, they come up for time to time at a good price, especially if already painted. You could always strip them and as you're painting again, no harm done.

Thank you for the advice, I'll keep an eye on these. From time to time I see lots that include furniture, quest books and cards. Also in the Brazilian version, the altar and the tomb are both papercraft. So I intend to replace those as well.

Yes, I'm from Brazil. I have the base game, Kellar's Keep and Return of the Witch Lord in portuguese. I believe these were the only expansions released here.

Good News! I've found a lot of miniatures for a reasonable price. Now I got all miniatures, except for the four heroes (which I already have proxies for) and the Gargoyle. What do you think of Belthir (Descent) as a replacement for the Gargoyle?

The gargoyle alone is around 15-20 dolars on eBay.

Thanks Did you check out the Litchmyre kickstarter? They have a badass gargoyle. Pledgemanager for late backers is still open I think.

Yup. I've seen it, the sculpts are insane, but I thought the campaign was over. If they release the miniatures commercially, I'll definitely grab a few.
